excellent food great view great desert
Excellent View! Great staff, very friendly environment. My food was amazing, very pretty, delicious and plentiful. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend this place for a unique date night!
The restaurant from the outside doesn't like like a restaurant but an office building. You have to walk around to the left side of the building and take the elevator or outside stairs up to the 2nd floor. The view is decent minus the quarry right across the water. LolOur server's name was Kay and she was fantastic. Very polite and attentive. The ambience is decent but the patron mix is dressy, or shorts and t-shirt.The food is reasonably priced and tasty. We got the calamari appetizer which was delicious but a tad oily. The filet with risota was ok. The risotto was very good and flavorful. The filet was cooked correct but didn't have much flavor, so we put some salt and pepper on it.The drinks (mimosa & raspberry spritz) were made well and refreshing.Overall I would come back because of the service and the menu items.
If you want excellent quality fine dining, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Lobster tortellini was good but not the best. Had appetizers and desserts along with the meal and they weren’t that tasty. Definitely overpriced and overrated.
We went early (Saturday} for Mother's Day dinner.
This is a great restaurant in Chesapeake located off the beaten path (in a good way) on the second floor of a corporate building next to a marina and boat storage. The door is around the side and we took the elevator up; the navigated walk added to the story for our anniversary. Our awesome server Danielle was sweet, intuitive, and on point throughout our entire meal. Food came out fast and fresh at a fairly busy hour. Great selection of beer, wine, and signature drinks. The fried oysters were absolutely delicious; sweet, salty, perfect crisp and super tender interior bite with a balsamic reduction and thin dill pickle slices. Rack of lamb with mango chutney was spot on. I have nothing negative to say about our experience. Great job to everyone at the Amber Lantern! Keep up the great work. Did I mention Danielle was awesome? I did and she was.
Very pleasant dinner on the outside deck overlooking the water. Celebrating a home purchase and family. The food was superb!! The wait staff was very accommodating. The three of us order separate dishes and shared.Very GOOD! Will come back for certain.
Oysters were undercooked, lamb was not a good cut, shrimp were small and lump crab was filler. So disappointed! Pre-pandemic the food was amazing. I gave it 2 stars for the martinis.
A little off the beaten path but worth it for a finer dining experience than your everyday restaurant in Chesapeake. Service was incredibly slow but that is most likely due to understaffed wait personnel...ughh, covid. Ceasar salad was done to perfection as was gnocchi carbonnara! Would definitely order that combo again any day. The seared ahi tuna was just slightly underdone (very rare IMO) and the side vegetables for this dish were raw (I didn't order it so the menu may have explained this, be prepared) ...even still it was just ok when I tasted it. Drinks were OK but pricey, however they were in line with entree costs too.
Traveling north bound on a boat.Friend had told us it was a good restaurant.First of all, Kelly bartender, short staff, did a hell of a job. Wife and I spit fried oyster appetizer, best fried oysters we have ever had. I had crab stuffed shrimp, which was recommended or I would not have ordered, were excellent, moist and delicious.
