I visit my family nearby, I live out of town, stopped off at this Tropical Smoothie on the way out, was looking for a food that would be easy to eat on the road. I love how tightly they wrap their wraps, it was a mess-free meal while driving. The people are also extremely nice, and everything tasted so very good. I appreciate them and I recommend this place.
Food is great; but rude, abrupt behavior must be what they look for in their counter help. I've been there twice and encountered 2 different employees. Both mean and needlessly rude, not only to me but to all customers. I won't visit this location again. If I'm shelling out top dollar for smoothies, I'd like to get to be treated with respect...even if they cannot manage a smile.
EDIT: the below review was meant for the tropical smoothie @port road, harrisonburg... i apologize, google asked me to review & since that was my most recent visit i guess i mustve thought i was reviewing there...On a side note..I take my daughter to uva for appointments at least once a month, & always stop by to grab my usual from this tropical smoothie.. service was GREAT- the workers were eager to help & though you can't dine in, the experience was still wonderful. Thank you.I get lunch here quite often & really enjoy my experience. I order the same order 3 cheese chicken quesadilla everytime.. unfortunately this last time that I visited, I received a plain cheese quesdilla :( after sitting in the drive thru for 30 min.. I did not have time to wait for them to correct it.
I ordered a peanut butter banana chia smoothie. Let me tell you - this was the most watered down thing i have ever tasted. It was really gross - had to throw it away. The icing on the cake was while I was waiting for my smoothie, a homeless person parked their cart right outside the entrance and then walked right into the restroom. Other than that, the workers at this chain do not value cleanliness. I saw no gloves and finger licking. Super gross. I wanted to vomit after leaving.
I accidentally sent my order to the wrong store, which was admittedly my fault but in sorting the confusion server was immediately rude. Sighed when speaking and placed laptop in front of me making me look through and sort through all orders of the day saying “no, that’s not you. No, not you.” in a sarcastic and rude tone. When I said “I must’ve sent it to the wrong place.” Server said “Yeah” and walked away.

Even though I am not a huge smoothie fan, I love their Flatbreads for lunch. Their food is great!
Good smoothies but even when you go there and it's no other people they tend to be slow.
I just watched one of the employees tattle that a woman was feeding her infant Chick-fil-A while she waited for her husband to order.This was apparently such an egregious offense the manager went to talk to her and they ended up leaving.Lack of compassion is unbelievable.
This was my first time trying Tropical Smoothie Cafe and I loved it! The staff was very busy when I came in but very friendly and kind. The smoothies I ordered were delicious! I’ll definitely be back.
