My wife and I dined in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in May. The restaurant was well kept and the employees were very helpful. This was our first time here and they answered all of our questions. The food breakdown: the tacos are 6 inch tortillas ranging from $4-$6 each. Depending on how hungry you are, you could get full on 1. We were able to make changes to our tacos with ease (spicy food doesn’t settle the best with me). They brought the chips & guacamole to us first at our table then brought the tacos 5 minutes later. For our lunch, it was $34.The food was very delicious! We were stuffed in the end and loved our experience! If you’re in the area or driving down 64, it’s worth the time to come eat here!
Finally tried Torchy's! The personnel were friendly & efficient. The restaurant was clean & busy. We ate outside in the patio to take advantage of the nice weather. The food was tasty & filling. For starters, the guacamole & chips were yummy. If you get a non-alcoholic beverage, you can refill at the refill station, which also has containers for leftovers.I got the burrito in a bowl with beef. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the "beef" was shredded beef, not ground beef. My husband got the Orange Taco, which he said was very filling, & the Street Corn side.I got a frozen peach margarita. The menu said they use fresh squeezed lime juice & I believe it! Because, the lime juice was all I could taste. Next time, I'll order a lime Margarita on the rocks.
Torchy's bean and brisket burrito (Burrito Grande) is one of the best burritos I've had in my life. It's a great combination of flavors and textures without a lot of excess rice as filler. AND the roasted tomatillo salsa is outstanding. Very friendly staff as well. I drive 30 miles just to eat there.Absolutely 5 Stars ?????
I got the chicken quesadilla off the kids menu, the Baja shrimp taco & chips & dip. I do wish you didn’t have to buy each taco separately. However, the food was amazing. The strawberry margarita was amazing! Also, I wasn’t satisfied with the temperature but when Randy came to check on our service he fixed that for me. Thank you Randy for being so kind and attentive!!!
First visit to Torchys Tacos left me very impressed. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable.I had never heard of Torchys prior to our visit, this being the first time I'd ever seen the restaurant. The menu was not as extensive as some similar places but it was interesting and quite good. I had the Fried Avocado Corn Tortilla. The flavor was excellent. The chicken Fajita was also very tasty. The sides of rice and Street Corn blew me away.Absolutely going to add to the "places to go" list in Charlottesville.
Great service and staff. Tacos are good… probably not the best, but there are variety of fun options to try. Chips and queso are delish and so are churros and margaritas. Can’t wait to try more!
Interesting menu, not your regular taco options. I enjoyed a chicken one with very good bacon jam for its sauce (on the side). Not a big place, and tables are packed tightly together, but there's a large outside patio. They lose a star in my rating because it's so darn loud. I wish restaurants weren't designed to make you feel you gotta leave to save your eardrums. Conversation was difficult.
I struggle to pay for tacos, largely because I usually feel I can make my own cheaper and often better...but I must say I LOVE Torchy's! The meats are seasoned so well, the combinations are excellent and the flour tortillas are fresh and delicious! It is going to be hard NOT stop on each drive thru C'ville!
The food was surprisingly good. The staff was lovely. The avocado salsa is killer. Paying $4.5-7 per average sized taco is hard to swallow and makes this a place only an occasional stop.
Employees were super friendly & food was great
