Charlottesville's Three Notch'd Craft Kitchen & Brewery is set up like a beer garden. The place is huge. It doesn't offer the intamacy of a smaller brewery, BUT, both the beer and the food were excellent. Our server was both friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, I failed to get her name.I really wanted to try one of their burgers, which looked mouthwatering good online. But the brunch menu was shouting at me and I ordered the Cajun Eggs Benedict. They were delicious. My wife had the chicken and waffles which were out of this world. There was plenty to choose from on the beer menu and I went with the "Spring Fever Fruited Blonde". Though it is a limited edition, (a collaboration with the Roanoke Brewery) and might not be around for long, I highly recommend it while it lasts.Good beer, good food, good staff equals a nice day out in Charlottesville.
The beer, food, atmosphere and waitress were all outstanding and we look forward to a 2nd trip the next time we are in town. Three Notch'd has a nice almost secluded location, a large taproom as well as a huge outdoor area and plenty of parking. We tried 2 flights of 4 ($7) hitting most of their very good offerings, including the King of Clouds Juicy IPA, Local Lager and a Minute Man IPA. While flighting some of their dark beers, our waitress brought by a sample of the Double Dark Chocolate S'Mores Stout that was great. My wife and I both ordered the High on the Hog pulled pork sandwich that was loaded with pork and tremendous. There were some great sauces also as well as terrific French fries and Cole slaw. We can't say enough nice things about the atmosphere at Three Notch'd and our waitress, Morgan was excellent.
Went early evening on a Thursday and had a great time. Nice menu, well prepared, and served quickly. Plenty pf table space when we got there around 5pm, but nearly full by 6pm. This was a night for a new release of a juicy IPA which they shared a taste of.
They have the BEST hazy IPA's. I'm never disappointed with their beer. A special shoutout to Melissa who is the most amazing server ?
“whoa; this place is big!”big draft list, nice menu, good service.i would gladly go back for the food alone, but i appreciate a good beer by itself too.the echo from the high ceiling makes it noisier than i would expect, but that’s the only drawback.looking forward to sitting outside when the weather is nice.
Good pretzel appetizer a bit pricey$ but nice pretzel chew on the outside yet soft on the inside with cheese and a whole grain mustard dipping sauces was worth a try ?And i had to do a flight to sample the beers, and have to say 3 out of the 4 were right on the mark (4th was a little dark for me) between the stouts ales and fruity beers all were dam good beers, they change the beers all the time so have to try more before it gets 5 stars but will definitely be back! Plenty of parking, atmosphere inside and out was just what you want for a brewery, lots of group tables, large bar, and plenty of helpful staff members can't wait to try more of the food and drinks.
Award-winning brews, much better food than what you would usually find at a brewery, and a decent atmosphere. A great Charlottesville stapleBeer - 5Food - 4Atmosphere - 4Value - 5Service - 5
I always love coming to Three Notch’d for their ever rotating beer selection. I like that they have their classics as well as seasonal brews available. Affordable flight, and we even purchased some of the Apple Crumb Amber Ale to go!
Rating: 4.3 StarsSolid brewery with a nice vibe. I was visiting from St. Louis for a wedding, and the bridal party hosted a brunch here.I went to college at UVa prior to this brewery being here, and this is a welcomed addition to Charlottlesville.I was not really feeling beer so I can mostly comment on their food. I did order one beer, the "Blueberry Goodness" Berlinerweiss. I love blueberry beer, so I was pretty darn excited. However, this order was a critical error on my part because this is a sour, and I hate sours. It was just too tart for me.The food itself was good. The Fresh Fruit Grazing Tablet had a great assortment of fruits. The friend chicken tenders for the Chicken & Waffles were excellent. They had a generous portion of white meat with only limited fried breading component. The waffles with the maple syrup were excellent. The waffles themselves were perfectly cooked and had a nice sweet taste. I also really enjoyed the Brunch Potatoes. They were very flavorful but not too salty. Lastly, the Baked Sausage Cheese Estrada was tasty. If I am back in Charlottesville again within the next decade, I definitely want to give their other beers and food a try!
This brewery is extremely friendly, clean, and overall nice! We arrived on a slow day on a Tuesday where we were able to make conversation with the bartender where he recommended other stops in the area. The beers were great! We'd highly recommend coming here if you're in from out of town!
