The portions, price, and flavor are all incredible. I'll definitely be coming here from now on, fantastic restaurant.

Tasteless and rank. Much better Asian almost anywhere else. Ordered spring rolls, beef with green pepper, sweet and sour shrimp, with white rice. $34.
Don't know what the $2 charge was after the Chinese symbols. Delivery was fast. The food was dry. No sauces on either the pepper steak (tough) or chicken with cashews.
??Amazing chicken teriyaki they give thick, juicy and well seasoned pieces. Fresh fried rice, needs a bit more seasoning but still great. If they made chicken teriyaki fried rice I know it'd be mind-blowing ❣️
Best Chinese I’ve had so far in Charlottesville. Combos didn’t come with egg rolls.
That sorta sketch(in multiple ways) cheap yet dependable classic Chinese restaurant. Just make sure you're not around their parking lot past midnight...
We ordered 2 dinner combos, just 2 and it took an hour and a half before our food was ready! Unbelievable! They said it would be ready between 20-35 minutes! They should have been honest with us and we would not have waited that long, leaving our kids hungry and waiting in the car. We couldn't leave because they kept saying, "almost done, almost done!" There were several of us waiting that long and they had no explanation, no one talked to us. Totally inexcusable and we will never order from them again!
We have been going the The Red Lantern For the past year on a weekly basis and special occasions, we order by phone or stop in, we have never experienced the long waits as posted in other reviews.
They've upped their game over the last few years to really become the best take-out Chinese in town. I think Peter Chang's is pretty great, too, but they're also a different kind of restaurant, I feel. Red Lantern still has that "take-out Chinese food" taste to it. Hard to describe what that is, but if you know, you know. Food is really great quality. Staff is nice and friendly.I couldn't give 5 stars, though, because of the wait. I placed my most recent order in person and it was for 4 meals, so probably a fairly standard kind of order for them. Nothing too crazy, all standard menu items. I waited for over an hour inside and had to ask about my order rather than be given an update. Others were coming and going, ordering and picking up, while I waited. So, I still recommend them, just make sure to order ahead so you can wait somewhere else if you'd like.
