This place is pretty unique in that it is a tight little basement bar jam packed with friends. Everytime I even walk past there it's always swarming with great people. Kerry and Pete are very formidable ;)
Seemed like a cool place to get a drink on a monday night, if that was possible. Walked up to the full bar and attempted to get eye contact with the bartender but couldn't. I waited about 15 minutes and a couple regulars tried helping me catch the attention of the bartender but his eyes were glazed over and he never really looked at any of the patrons except for 2 groups at each end. One of the regulars said the other bartenders are great, but this older gentleman is usually too far gone to serve a drink. I'll try again next time I'm in town and maybe I'll be able to get a drink.
Not a terribly big fan of this place. Super small so it's difficult to navigate, music is really loud, and there's often other patrons standing on top of you. I would opt for most other venues on the Downtown Mall.

Spent two days in Charlotte moving my friend here. We chose The Livery Stable for a Monday night drink and "meet the locals". Between 7pm and midnight we saw many demographics at this bar. People of color, college students, after work beer-grabbers and the non-stop 90s, loving bartender who served drinks and food for over 25 people solo in a 80% packed bar. Impressive.
