Neat venue! Friendly staff and adequate spacing for the types of concerts this venue holds. Multiple bars, easily accessible restrooms, and convenient location to shopping and restaurants.

Great diverse music, great sound and production quality, and offer a variety of drink options. Beautiful architecture and view from upstairs. Definitely my favorite indoor venue in the area.

Music venues need to excel in many different ways to earn a 5-star review from me. Sound quality, first and foremost, sight-lines from all the viewing areas must be good, and there needs to be the right welcoming vibe from the moment you enter the door. The Jefferson Theater rates well in every one of these aspects, and the staff completes the deal by making every guest feel appreciated and important. And now they offer food from their next door restaurant, the wonderful Cinema Taco, right in the lobby.I think The Jefferson is now one of the top venues to see live music on the east coast.

Nice looking clean place. One of the security people were rude but the rest were nice. Very narrow chairs but we had a great time.

Great venue! Good shows & the staff is very friendly. Parking nearby was fairly easy to find.

The Jefferson Theater is a smallish local venue that occasionally draws national talent, along with a steady stream of local bands and artists. I regularly make the drive from Roanoke to catch some of their bigger acts, and would come more regularly for the others if I loved closer, because I genuinely love this venue so much and want to continue supporting it. Parking options are plentiful and a fairly short walk away, though all are paid lots/garages. As for the venue itself, the small, intimate stage allows for a closer look at the artists and their bands, and photographs well if you are one of those obnoxious people like me who always has to take phone pictures during a set. They have a bar upstairs and a seating area, but I confess I've never utilized either. The acoustics are pretty well amplified in the space, though, so I imagine that the upper levels would be just as comfortable for someone who doesn't feel the need to get as close to the stage as possible. I will say that, since it's a college town, the crowd at this venue skews a little young. I usually find myself one of the older members of the crowd, and while I don't really mind I know that can make some people self conscious. Overall, though, this venue is a gem, and all of Central Virginia is blessed to have it.

Awesome cool old theater that's now a venue. Great bar selection and the sloping floor gives a better view of the artist.

Incredible venue, great and friendly staff. The 9:30 Club of Charlottesville but better and way more welcoming/intimate.

The venue is spacious and draws great artists, but one can’t enjoy the music due to all of the noise generated by the crowd. We will start to bypass this venue until a culture that respects the artists is evident.

Great for bands & acoustics work well in this theater. BUT No working bathrooms for balcony. Not very clean.
