Food was awesome - definitely could tell a real chef was employed. Was expecting more open outside setup, and sitting under a fan with more 'garage' feeling was very distracting, but did find a table outside near the entrance that was quieter. The website still shows open columns, but sides were closed so should be updated. Understand this is probably a setup to help with Covid during colder months, but maybe ceiling fans instead of blowers would help.

My husband and I went here for my 60th birthday (we traveled to the area from West Virginia). It met all of my expectations .. and then some. The food was amazing and our server was very professional and yet very personable. The staff went out of their way to make our experience special. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Our server recommended the chef's speciality - Lamb (which he has never had before). He really loved it. I ordered the Maryland Crab cake. Being from the Eastern Shore of Maryland I can tell you it was excellent.
Our waiter recommended the She Crab soup and it was the best She Crab soup I have ever eaten. My wife agreed with me. Our waiter was outstanding with his service. It was a treat to go here.

One of the best restaurants in the Charlottesville area. Good menu variety, awesome wine list although limited to domestic wines, excellent preparation and excellent service. We haver never been disappointed at the Ivy Inn and they obviously strive to maintain their high quality and excellent reputation.
