Probably the worst service of any restaurant on the downtown mall. Filthy, too. New location; same bad service.

Edit 7/29/22: OMG- after the "response" from the Owner a couple of days ago about my honest review, I no longer recommend the restaurant. I will absolutely not support a restaurant owned by someone who would leave a response like that bashing Christians and bringing politics into a restaurant review. With this mindset and lack of professionalism, I cannot imagine what goes on behind the scenes (kitchen, staff treatment, etc.) Another star was removed. Yikes! The food was above average, but a bit pricey for what you get. We aren't drinkers, so I cannot comment on that. The outdoor seating in Charlottesville's walking mall was nice because it was a beautiful day. However, a seemingly homeless, mentally ill man walked around screaming about Jesus the whole time were eating, which is unfortunate, but that is no fault of the restaurant. It does take away the enjoyment and peacefulness of the area though, so just be prepared for it. The staff were all very nice, prompt (except drink refills) and professional. It was definitely good quality food. I was just surprised to see the total being $50 (before tip) for two people with no alcohol and only one dessert. I would recommend it if you're in the mood for Mexican food although next time we are in the area, I'll try something else.

We stopped here at the beginning of our downtown Charlottesville wanderings because I hadn't eaten anything yet for the day. They have a great outdoor seating area that is pet friendly. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating (and patient with one of my surly teenagers!).The margarita was spot on and I could actually taste the tequila, which is few and far between. They had Yuca Fritas, which I have been hard pressed to find on the east coast. They were not only delicious, but the serving size was HUGE for the price point. My son LOVED his tacos and had plenty of leftovers to bring back to the hotel for later.Overall, we couldn't have been happier with this dining experience and the service. I would highly recommend if you're ever in the area.

The Bebedero is the greatest. I absolutely cannot come to Charlottesville without visiting here. All the staff are awesome!!! I always recommend The Bebedero to anyone when visiting or going through Charlottesville. You will never regret eating or drinking here. I give them the highest star rating plus some. ❤❤❤

The Rockfish dish was outstanding, as was the Mexican Coke bourbon drink with lime (I can't remember the name). Food was platted well, hot and incredibly tasty. The vibe is great for the location and although a little dark on the inside, the environment was still upbeat. It was a good experience, and there is only one thing that keeps me from giving it five stars - the appearance of the staff. I know that it's hard to find good help and everyone wants a casual experience, but the entire front-of-the-house staff looked liked they have been sleeping in their clothes without showing for a few days. They weren't exceptionally engaging and frankly, it appears that the dress code is old t-shirts and whatever, so it was actually challenging to identify who worked here. We may have just hit them on a tough day, but it was early on a Friday evening.

Visiting Charlottesville on a Thursday and decided this looked good. Waited about 15 minutes to be seated, no problem. Ordered drinks , appetizer and entrees. The appetizer and entrees were served simultaneously. No drinks. Both the appetizer and entrees were cold. After two reminders (about 1/2 way through the entrees), the server reported that the bar was behind. Drinks came shortly thereafter. This was a low volume Thursday night at 6:00 pm. I can’t imagine the service conditions during high volume hours. Food was mediocre.

Very poor service. Arrived at 8:10 with 2 others, ordered food. The food took 1 hr to arrive. Only after we asked the waitress about our missing appetizers did they arrive, which was after our meal. The food was salty and over cooked. Water was never refilled, and no one was available to notify for a refill. I do not recommend this resturant to others. The live music was the only enjoyment of the visit.

Pricey menu- service was extremely slow the day we went- we were very patient and understand places are short staffed but it got to a point that everything was slow. Food(took 20 min to take order, an hour to get the food) drink refills (waitress she saw the cups empty didn’t even ask, but a guy came and filled them up for us when he delivered our food) , to get our ticket (we asked when we got our food since it took so long for everything else, she said ok abs then that took another 30 min) so overall we were there over 2 hours just for tacos and water. Staff was friendly though, they weren’t rude or anything- so we were too.Food was so-so. The items I ordered were great, but my friends not so good- we both did the 2 way tacos all different flavors- chicken and tilapia tacos had no flavor. The exotic mushroom was amazing though. If I come back I would definitely order that again.

My husband and I had dinner here one of the nights we were in Charlottesville. It is located in the downtown mall section of town. I have Celiac so I am always looking for restaurants that are knowledgeable about preparing gluten free food. Mexican is usually a safe bet! This is more authentic - there were not your typical fajitas, burritos, enchiladas on the menu. My husband and I shared nachos and empanadas which was the perfect amount of food for us. The ambiance was nice and food was tasty. Almost everything on the menu was gluten free!

This restaurant has moved around a lot but some how the quality never falls this is my favorite Mexican restaurant it’s only flaw in my eyes is that you can only enjoy it in my town
