Food was delicious, best Baklava I’ve had in a long time. The veggie platter and the kunefe were great, definitely recommend this place!

Excellent Turkish food in Charlottesville, VA.! Friendly staff and the quality of food is stellar. Our family loved every dish that was brought out to us. The Lahmacun (pizza) and Halloumi cheese was exquisite.

I work across the street from Sultan so it is super convenient for lunch. The food is SUPERB! I have yet to try something that wasn't AMAZING. The folks that work at Sultan are always friendly and grateful for the business, which they do plenty of! They have a lovely patio area for outside dining too! For carryout, ordering online via their website is most appreciated!

We dined outside under a tree in this wonderful place in Downtown Charlottesville. The lunch menu contained a wide variety of delicious choices and chose 5 of them, all delicious. The baklava for dessert was served with ice cream and was unusually delicious. The service was very good. The bill afterward was also a treat.

My husband & I went here for lunch. We were excited to go because of all the good reviews, plus we love ethnic food. The interior & exterior are attractive. But after that, it kind of fell apart. It took 35 minutes to place our order & get our food -- and the place was nearly empty. We were not even offered water, and the otherwise nice young man who gave us our silverware & then, later, menus unfortunately had B.O. Our plates were nice looking when they finally arrived. My husband had the doner kebab sandwich. The sides -- couscous & beans -- were both wonderful, nicely flavored & what we would expect from a Turkish restaurant. His sandwich, however, tasted like.... nothing. The meat seemed to have no seasoning whatsoever & was really bland. He ended up not finishing it. I got the greens & beet salad with lamb. The greens were nice and fresh but the beets seemed to be from a jar/can. Again, the dressing was quite bland. But the lamb was downright weird. I LOVE lamb & was excited to be getting it. But it had a bizarre liver-like texture and flavor, with no seasoning or ANY lamb flavor at all. My husband agreed that it was sort of a mystery meat. Needless to say, I did not finish my lunch either. So, 50 minutes for a bland $30 lunch with perfunctory service & a weird mystery meat. After all the fabulous reviews, we were hoping to find a new regular spot, but we will not be back. We were so disappointed!

Excellent value and delicious. Welcoming staff and helpful. Lots of options on the menu. We had the vegetarian platter which had nothing we didn't like on it and the Iskender kebab platter with way more food than I could handle. The yogurt was excellent and authentic. Excellent value

INCREDIBLE. Absolutely delicious, amazing service, and beautiful place. Get a bunch of food and enjoy! Especially the teas!

Went to Sultan last weekend and we had a really good time.Service: Server was friendly and had a positive attitude. He was fast and checked on us after we got our food.Food: It was delicious, we had the lahmacun, and two of the specialty platters ($16-18 per person). The portions were large and had a variety of salad, homemade bread and the meats. Unfortunately we didn’t get the signature dessert, we will have to go back.Prices: They were reasonable for the amount of food we received.Overall Value: A well put restaurant with nice flavors and atmosphere and reasonable prices. We would certainly go back.

I went to Sultan Kebab because of the good reviews. I have eaten in Turkish and Mediterranean restaurants in many US cities. This was not exceptional. The food was plain and served over regular bread (not pita, as per description). Kudos to the personnel who did a good job in making feel welcome. The room was spacious and had high ceilings (for those worried about covid). Would dI visit it again? Probably not.

We had a really good meal here and we’re greeted and cared for by a very kind staff. The chicken kebab had an especially excellent flavor. We’ve lived and traveled in Turkey and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and authenticity of the food. Serhan, was especially kind and welcoming.
