Great cocktails, food. Friendly and warm service from hostess and bar staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Found the owner/chef a bit intimidating. Publically , passive aggressively correcting and complaining about a staffs very minor mistake not once but 3-4x. Kind of rubbed me the wrong way. That being said - I will be back.
I ended up going here quite often during the pandemic since the back bar is 3 sided, so perfect for good air flow. But, with case rates down, I still love going: the atmosphere is quirky and fun, the staff are always friendly, and the drinks are creative and well-crafted. We were a large group this most recent time, and all the food was a hit: fried oysters, po'boy, fried green tomatoes, steamed shrimp and the sliders. Lovely evening.
Wonderful setting and atmosphere!Very good drinks.Food needed more BAM as ours was bland. Catfish poboy was ok, good batter on fresh catfish. Remoulade was bland. Came with a few homemade chips.Hush puppies were good.Jambalaya was ok, lacking depth of flavor and spice.Odd service and ordering setup, you have to go to the counter and place your order and they hold your credit card. This leaves new customers waiting in line with those trying to pay to leave. Plus if you want another drink or more food, get in line.

I simply adore this place. Whether it’s the cozy, eccentric indoor seating or the lighted by fire pits and twinkle lights outdoors - I’m hooked! The drinks AH-mazing and the fries - yum. Go alone or take your friends, just plan to stay awhile because it’s hard to leave.
We stumbled upon this restaurant walking in the neighborhood on our way to another restaurant. The atmosphere was magical with the twinkling lights, fire top tables, and New Orleans decor. Craft cocktail we’re on point, jambalaya was delicious, clam chowder was unlike anything we’ve ever had. The beignets were warm fresh and the best we’ve ever had! The staff were so charming and friendly. The chef operates out of his adorable home converted into cozy woodsy food wonderland. The clean blankets for snuggling into were a fabulous touch! No detail went unnoticed. If you are in Charlottesville and haven’t been you are sorely missing out on a truly unique dining experience.
