Selvedge Brewing is quickly becoming my favorite place in Charlottesville! The ambience is awesome, the beers are unique and cold, and the FOOD. Oh goodness. I’ve almost tried the entire menu…but I gotta say the burger hits the spot. Oh and do yourself a favor and get the feta ranch with the fries. The seasonal veggie bowl is addicting…and don’t forget the COOKIES. Yummm.

For both Selvedge Brewery and Broadcloth:You could not ask for better places to visit. The food is exquisite! They cook seasonal items to perfection. The bartenders know what they are doing! Seasonal drinks made with care, laughter and joy. The service is setting the bar high in cville. The staff is knowledgeable on what is served and different ways to prepare or different ways to serve. If able, the dinner with drink pairings is a must attend. The perfect pairs of exceptionally selected ingredients with the tasting notes of wine and/or cocktails will send your taste buds dancing well into the night.

The ordering situation here where you have no wait staff, you just order through your phone and it shows up shortly thereafter should be a national model - it vastly improves the experience. Food is good, venue is good, drinks are good, nicely shaded area in the afternoon, would 100% recommend it. If more places had the ordering situation they’d probably improve their stars by at least one.

Great brewery with a spacious interior seating or outdoor seating. There are fans outside if it’s hot and there is self service water outside. The Old Fashion cocktail was fantastic, probably one of the best I have ever had in the area. There French fries are also really good, perfectly cooked. Service was quick and friendly. The only complaint was the online ordering and having to register yourself to see the menu. Overall great experience and will go back.

On a mission to visit every craft brewery in the Charlottesville area. Today's pick was to a brewery I had never heard of but it was checking one off the list.Selvedge Brewing was more than a just pleasant surprise. We will definitely be going back.I went dark today and had a "Fleece" Coffee Milk Stout (Nitro). Great aroma, packed with flavor. I loved it.For lunch, my wife had a Smash burger and I went with a Selvedge Burger and a side of macaroni & cheese. Excellent burgers. The menu is limited, but very tasty. The staff was great, the ambiance outstanding. And my beer, well, I wish I had another!!

I did not enjoy my visit to Selvedge. They force you to order everything from your table using a QR code system. That system also applies an 18% tip automatically to all orders. They don't even bring silverware and napkins to your table, you have to get them yourself. The beer selection was limited on the day I was there. We had a much better experience at the brewery just down the street.

Made reservations for a party of 9 (bachelorette weekend) back at the start of March, received an email confirmation and all.... we called on April 2nd on the way to the restaurant, just to be told by one very rude woman they had "no idea" what we were talking about, and then told by another kind young woman that they had an event that night and "meant to call us that morning and let us know they cancelled our reservation, but had forgotten to". They left us completely high and dry on plans for the night, 30 minutes before our reservation, and we had to scour downtown Charlottesville (which we were not familiar with at all) to find anywhere that would take 9 people on such short notice. Such an incredibly disappointing experience, and the only offer they gave us was for a reservation the next night... when we would no longer be in town. Looked like a cool place to go, but definitely call several times first if you book a reservation- they obviously can't keep track of them very well.

Food was wonderful and the atmosphere was updated and fresh. However, the service was extremely rushed. While we were leaving close to closing- the not so subtle hints were a bit tasteless, repetitive, and rude. Great first and last visit.

The food is wonderful. The best burger! Love the coffee shoppe across the way. Delicious desserts. Service a bit on the slow side - it could have been an extra busy day or just a fluke. That would not stop me from going again & again. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful ambiance and the seating areas are spaced out nicely. We absolutely love the abundance of natural light in this space. The service was great and certainly worth (at least) 18% included gratuity. We’ll definitely be back to check out the nearby trails and enjoy more of the menu.
