Friendly, knowledgeable staff and a clean resturant. I enjoy having an open kitchen and you can watch them make your meal. We had the spaghetti pomodoro and the Speing Orchettie. Both were flavorful and seasoned well.
From working with Ken and Charles to arranging a 30+ business dinner months in advance, selecting the menu, arriving early to ensure set-up, hosting for appetizers, serving dinner, staff, etc. I would highly recommend Orzo Kitchen and Wine Bar for dinner or an event. This place should be at the top of your list when visiting Charlottesville! Amazing food, drinks, service and atmosphere. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and made wonderful recommendations. They have a great selection of wine and cocktails for every taste and even amazing mocktails that I couldn't get enough of. The menu is extremely thoughtful and they had several dishes that were created around seasonal favorites. I had the Spring Orecchetti pasta which was light, flavorful and fresh. We loved this place so much that we visited twice (once for drinks & once for food and drinks). We will absolutely be visiting again when we make our way back to Charlottesville!
This is a tried and true experience in Charlottesville; one of the longest lived restaurants around.Everything is very well rehearsed; the food and the staff are all reliable and experienced.If you are old enough and look at the ceiling you might remember your car being serviced here ?
Our waiter's aloofness was a bit off putting but the food made up for it! I recommend the steak. It was fantastic. And the drinks were on point as well.
We were in Charlottesville for just one night. I saw some restaurant flyers in our hotel lobby & the one from Orzo was appealing to me. I looked at it & told my husband that’s where we were going to have dinner! We were seated at the bar at our request. The husband & wife owners were our bartender & hostess and were both so welcoming. We enjoyed chatting with them & another couple at the bar. We shared a great cabbage salad. I had the bolognese & my husband had the passport special of steak & patatas bravas. Both were delicious. We finished with a glass of homemade Lemoncello- yum! I told the owners Orzo reminded us of our favorite restaurant at home (Cafe Med in Portsmouth,NH). He summers in the area- small world! Anyway, for a great meal & a welcoming atmosphere I recommend Orzo wholeheartedly! And I hope the owners check out Cafe Med this summer ?
Highly recommend this restaurant! The house salad was the best salad I’d ever had. The cocktails are wonderful; the tender even accommodated my special request. The entrees were sumptuous; we got the Italian sausage pasta and the salmon. We travel through Charlottesville twice a year and dine here on our way up and back each year. It’s my favorite part of our trip. Service is excellent.
Always a great dinner and terrific setting. The owners take a real interest in making sure everything is going right. You can even see them tending bar many nights!
We had an amazing experience! The food was amazing! We had the prime sirloin, which would get 5 stars in itself but the winner was the pork loin with the amazing wild mushroom! We were also lucky enough to have an amazing server, Nick was wonderful helping us. If you want someone who knows his wine list and is patient and kind who takes the time to share his wine knowledge ask for Nick!
We had a wonderful start to our visit to Charlottesville by dining at Orzo. From the greeting of the hostess to our server and other staff, we were welcomed and treated beautifully. The ambiance of the restaurant is perfect and in line with the Mediterranean theme. The food was outstanding. Highly recommend the Smoked Pork Tenderloin, the Herbed Späetzle, and the Olive Oil and Rosemary cake. Delicious and unique flavors in all. Our server, Adonis, did a terrific job for us and was very attentive. Ken the owner made some deliveries and pickups at our table and gave a friendly hello, as well. All in all, we were very impressed and loved Orzo. Highly recommended.
