First time dining at Maya, would come again. A proper martini, great waitress and delicious food! We had shrimp with grits and the roasted carrot appetizer.
You can tell the long dash time chef and cooks are proud of this place and they âcook with love.â Sounds corny, but it feels true. Even the shrimp and grits had a subtle but delicious twist on them. If dining inside, itâs a little crowded and a little noisy, but then weâre old fogeys so what do we know? We do know about food! Our server was beyond terrific. We stumbled across this place as new residents, but weâll be back. .
The dinner and service was excellent! I did not feel too comfortable outside. It was wet and a bit too loud out on the patio. I would like to try sitting outside again perhaps during a different time/improved weather. The parking options were a bit confusing. That was my first time visiting Maya. The ambiance was rather sad. The food was good although my husbands steak was way over cooked. Drink were great though.
We had a great dinner and would highly recommend to anyone visiting or living in the Charlottesville area
