The food was very fresh and excellently prepared and the service was excellent, attentive and friendly but nor overbearing.
We Brits arenât used to such sizeable starters, but the sprouts were clearly a signature dish and we finished them off - really great!! The staff were lovely, very attentive and clearly enjoying their job - which is a plus! The food was generally good quality and the wine list was great - the Provence Rose VG!! Recommended! and only a short walk from Main Streetâ¦
One of the worst dinner experiences weâve had in Charlottesville. We were sat for our reservation and a waiter didnât come over to us for 15 minutes until I had to go find somebody. Got our drinks and app after 30 minutes and then had to go find somebody again to order dinner. When the dinner did get there it was bland- I had the Char and my wifeâs burger was plain and overcooked. The table next to us had a similar experience, so much so that they sent back some of their food and left after just a few bites. We had a good first experience at T&G a few years back so I want to keep giving it a chance but the past two or three visits have been really underwhelming.
Remarkable space, nice buzz. However, food took very long to come out, and waitstaff didn't really let us know this during the moment. Great cocktail list.
Good food. Highly encourage anyone to try this restaurant.
Best meal I have had in ages. Wonderful wine list. Attentive servers. Atmosphere was excellent
Great meal, excellent service and love the building. Excellent wine selection too!
Our group of 6 LOVED brunch here this past Sunday! Beautifully plated and delicious food in an 1870s building with an incredible history. Highly recommend!
Wonderful food destroyed by outrageously bad service from a lovely waitress. I was well warned by othersâ reviews before going. 7:15 reservation, seated at 7:40 after people who walked in after we did with 7:30pm reservation. Ordered cocktails at 7:40pm delivered at 8pm along with our appetizers (we read the bad timelines in othersâ reviews so intentionally ordered everything at once). Itâs now 8:43pm and no entre. My son is losing it!!!! Finally entrees arrived at 8:50pm so we asked for dessert and check at same time. 9:15pm left the restaurant. They must have the misconception that they are offering a gastronomy experience that takes two hours. The difference is that there are many courses with a Michelin starred restaurant including bread and amuse. No, nothing during a 40 minute wait for the entre. Clearly they have one person in the kitchen, an over worked bar tender, a waitress and the owner running around forgetting she ever checked us in ahead of a later reservation. Oh, and they accidentally charged us doubly for our entrees - just a programming error in the computer we had to point out. DO NOT EAT HERE.
Went during restaurant week - it was delicious! Otherwise, Iâd never been here. This is definitely a nice date night spot or good for a swanky night out with fridges.
