We stopped here for a beer and dinner after a long day at Monticello and then a quick walk around the University of Virginia. Parking was easy -- yay!! -- and the beer and food were plentiful and good. If we lived in Charlottesville we'd be here a lot.
We have always loved Kardinal Hall and it was a natural choice for my son’s high school graduation! Great and plenty of food, fun things to do, a private room with AV and a wonderful event planner and staff. Affordable too for Charlottesville!
Great place for a nice pint and some good food. It’s not exactly cheap, but it’s definitely reasonable and you get what you pay for. Been coming here for a few years and the staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. Vibes all always great, too

We used Kardinal Hall for our son's welcome dinner the night before the wedding and had a great experience. The staff was unfailingly helpful, cheery, and accommodating. The food and drinks were terrific, especially the buttermilk fried chicken. We highly recommend KH!
Went with my family (married couple + 3 kids) and another family (couple + 2 kids), ate inside where it was so warm we were sure it was warmer indoors than out. The place was also hopping. Indoor and outdoor seating was available but by far with prom & UVA graduation coming up I'm sure it was busier than usual. That didn't stop our food and drinks from being fresh, delicious, hot, and timely. Love, love, love this place.
This was a really fun and spacious tap house. They have a good selection of beer and a good menu, complete with a variety of in house German sausage. The indoor area is very spacious and they have a lot of board games. The outdoor patio has a nice view, and has two bocce ball lanes if you’re into that sort of thing.
We had a great time here! The burger was absolutely delicious, and the beer was great too! They have a huge selection of beers - drafts, cans, and bottles. It was quite busy when we went, a Saturday late afternoon, but not too bad. Definitely check it out!
We held our alumni gathering at Kardinal Hall and had an amazing experience. Preordered various appetizer boards and all were gorgeous and delicious. Bar service was excellent and the outside event space was perfect. Highly recommend for events!
We planned a rehearsal dinner & welcome celebration at Kardinal Hall for a Charlottesville wedding. Chrissy and her team were a pleasure to work with -- incredibly flexible in accommodating our plans and visions for the evening. The food was excellent, with a great beer / wine selection. Everyone had an amazing time, and I'd highly recommend Kardinal Hall -- whether for a large event or a fun, casual afternoon watching the game!
