It was pouring rain when we debated on where we wanted to eat. One of the employees was outside and told us about the menu. He told us that we wouldn't regret it. We LOVED it! We had the tacos, mom's special, the handheld, and the Cuban sandwich. Everything was fabulous!! Don't pass on the queso fritos, yummy! Sadly, we do not have pictures. We were hungry!
My experience here started subpar the guy at the front of the house looked right past me for five minutes until someone who bussed tables asked of I'd been helped. The service was fine/good after. I had beignets and a breakfast burrito. The buritto was good but the beignets were well below good. The latte was fuel. Would I go back? Maybe. Would I recommend? Nope
Consistently delicious and nice staff. I recommend asking for the limeade mixed with hibiscus tea - it’s a delight. I really enjoy the hands on and the cubano. Their queso frito is also amazing.
UVA Graduation Weekend and Guajiros was on point! Quick and incredibly friendly service from start to finish. The Hands On wrap was a great pairing of flavors and perfectly cooked eggs. The Maduros were what you would expect but the garlic aioli balanced the sweetness, and I am here for it! Then, the Queso Frito (fried cheese) changed my life. I can’t lie to you, I ordered more. Don’t miss the coffees, but know they are traditionally sweetened and pack the punch you’ll need to not go take a nap after an incredible meal. Charlottesville, we are lucky to have this taste of Miami on Main Street!
Wonderful food!! Would love to try everything on the menu. The staff was super friendly and the maicitos were incredible - wanted to lick the plate! Highly recommend!
The food here is FANTASTIC. I went with friends after a weekend shift at the hospital, clearly this was a great "after hospital shift" place to go (based on the amount of scrubs). We sat outside on a brisk day but it was not bad, there were heaters. My friend had a coffee and it was AMAZING, my other friend had this delicious canned tea-soda (materva) and I had a stupendous mojito. Often bartenders get too busy to craft a really well done mojito, and this was 2 standard deviations above the rest.The food was all fantastic, but what blew me away was the appetizer the Maicitos. It was a corn/cheese dish with chicken and pineapple with lays on top. Kind of like an elote, but with chicken. The sweet from the pineapple really worked with the corn/chicken/cheese. The lays on top added salt and crunch. I also had their cuban sandwich and friend plantains. Both were also delicious. This place exceeded high expectations.
Excellent. Like all good things, it is worth taking the time to enjoy. Coffee and cocktails are both outstanding in addition to the food, which is authentic. Great way to spend a late morning/early afternoon.
Delicious food and attentive service. The guava pastries were delicious and the eggs had tremendous flavor.
We went there for breakfast. Everything was quite good. The people were overly helpful. The place had many rooms, which gave a good ambience. Careful what you order, since everything is prepared cuban style. For example, if you want your coffee black and not with caramelized sugar, you need to tell them. They are more than happy to accommodate your needs.
Don't miss this place! The cafe con leche that was in this cup was the most delicious treat! Fresh and unique dishes, great service and awesome artwork. You will love it!
