It’s a complete grocery store with butcher shop and delicatessen inside . You can also buy some hot plate food like chicken wings . It’s a pretty clean and organized store . They also have quite the variety of flowers. IT’s very conveniently located at pan tops. There is also an electric charger in the parking lot where you can charge your car for free for two hrs .
Large, large selection, quality & Excellent service...no need to go at Walmart.
This store is awful!!! I was checking out, minding my own business with my toddler (who was getting fussy due to it being her nap time) and some obnoxious customer came up to me and told me my daughter had an ear infection. Now, I know my daughter and at first politely told her no, she was just tired. The woman proceeded to tell me I was wrong! Well at that point I just lost it and got upset. The short brown hair site manager I guess started to intervene when clearly he should have kept his mouth shut together with the nosey lady!
I’m often in Charlottesville VA for work. I stopped here to pick up some balloons for a colleague’s birthday. I asked the employee some questions. They treated me like a inconvenience & questioned me. They said they don’t believe I’m working in Charlottesville. They said “I doubt you even have a job.” It was very uncomfortable.. how would you know if I have a job or what I do? These people are totally miserable and need to learn customer service!
I like shopping at Food Giant it’s my fav place in Charlottesville. But these people are seriously rude and something’s wrong with them.. one of the cashiers noticed my hoodie that says “Proud mom of 4 boys!”She said she likes my hoodie, then she asked if it was really true. I said of course it’s true I wouldn’t wear it if it wasn’t. She said she thinks I’m lying! Then she asked to see a pic of my boys. I didn’t feel confortable so I didn’t show her. She told me stop pretending to be a parent. I spoke to a manager but they said they think I’m overreacting and said they think the employee was kidding. That’s not kidding. I would never say that to somebody or question someone in that manner. I would like to see how that manager reacts if they were ever put in that strange situation!
I absolutely love this store!!! I hate grocery shopping, but this is more like going to Walmart shopping, this store has it all and I can n do, spend hours just looking at all the different cool things this Giant has.
This is not the same Giant that you find in Philly/N.E, don't get it confused! The inside is dingy and the employees look miserable. You are better off going to Food Lion.
I cannot believe the rude service I encountered at this Giant Food location. I went to the floral department, I asked the woman for a bouquet of roses. For some reason, she asked why I need a bouquet of roses. I said they’re for my wife. She replied I look too young to have a wife! I said age has nothing to do with it, I told her I also have 3 kids. The woman was very rude, she said “it’s not nice to tell stuff that’s not true, you have a very vivid imagination!”She essentially called me a liar and said my wife & kids are figments of my imagination. I walked away speechless. I will never return to Charlottesville’s Giant Food store. That woman is not well.
This place is great it has organic food plus vegan. The pharmacy staff are very helpful and great they to work with you in any situation. I really appreciate them!!
I found their customer service to be lacking. I was sent the wrong shoppers card, apparently it only works in giant stores to the north. First of all this doesn't make sense, why have different cards? I mean I can use a kroger card at all stores owned by the company. Secondly, the manager stated this happens and walked away. She didn't offer me an appropriate card, just walked away.
