Went here this past Sunday. Service was pretty good. The eggs was delicious, the French toast was okay.. wasn’t very sweet. Please get pork substitutions such as turkey sausage or bacon. The beverages tasted watered down. I would still return someday. Also, hard to find parking & as busy as it was during the time we went.. maybe a reservation. Thanks!
Great food, great space, the vibe is really lovely.Service was a little relaxed but not miserable, we enjoyed our brunch regardless. My tiny issue was that the potatoes were soggy and mushy - likely sitting under a heat lamp and not fresh. Otherwise, everything else was top notch
I enjoyed the vibes of Fig. It definitely had great brunch vibes. The food was a little underwhelming. I had the Chicken Sunrise which was apparently a house classic. The waffle was nice, but the fried chicken breast was a little dry. The orange juice was served in a small glass – sorta unreasonable.
This was a pretty disappointing spot. We went at 8pm on a Saturday night, were never told that the kitchen was closing shortly—instead we were just rushed. Ordered drinks, they sat at the bar for 20 min while the waiters took selfies instead of bringing them to us. Food finally came and the risotto with the crab cake was as if the bottom of the pan was scraped onto my plate as opposed to the trash. (Not trying to be a jerk but risotto should definitely not be crunchy.) Lamb burger was also undercooked. The ambiance is great but the food/service could definitely be improved.
We were in C'ville for a mini-reunion and Sunday before leaving several of us met at Fig for brunch. All our meals were enjoyable, I had "I Dare you Wrap" with eggs, cheese, bacon, jalapenos, and a side of potatoes. Wrap was particularly good quality, I could have used fewer jalapenos and removed 6 jalapenos and still had plenty. Potatoes were very good and plentiful. Service was professional, friendly and efficient.
I went with my husband two days ago when they were really busy with brunch. Our server, Sonya, was amazing. She was incredibly friendly and helped make sure our food came out quickly so we could make it to an event. We got the eggs in avocado and mimosas. The food and drink were delicious too, but the service was the best part.
I had jumbalaya which nicely included Andouille sausage, so it has a small kick which I like. Crabcake salad with arugula was good, the fried oreos for dessert with vanilla ice creamwere a nice touch. Everyone working there was very kind and attentive. Great location and very walkable. Would go again. Very pleasant experience.
I scheduled a surprise birthday brunch for my 21 year old daughter and a gang of her friends. Anya and her team at Fig couldn't have been any nicer and could not have made the process any easier! The girls had a great time, said the food was fantastic, and they even played a little 50 Cent "It's your birthday...." for her! Fig sent me pictures of the gathering too so I didn't miss out on the fun totally! Excellent experience. I HIGHLY recommend Fig!
Saturday night, 7pm: overpriced, underwhelming food (pierogis and "farm vegan" plate were quite bland; crab cake was OK but overcooked); inexperienced service, and a large number of people tightly packed into a small, extremely loud space. I love to try and support our local restaurants and I truly wanted to love this place but as happens sometimes, I wish I'd stayed in and cooked at home.
Skip this place.Went here for restaurant week. It was no worth the Monday at all. There are so many other amazing restaurants in cville. I paid $40 for a $26 meal, just because it was restaurant week. The food was cold and had no flavor. I got the perogies, they in a sauce and soggy. Then I got the tofu meal, no flavor at all or sauce. The dessert was dry both the cake and benighets.
