We were situated next to a loud and drunken group that seemed better suited for a fraternity party than brunch at a restaurant. The waitress could not even hear our orders and we could not carry-on a conversation. We asked the manager to reseat us or handle better handle the group drinking gallons of mimosas. Unfortunately, the manager did not deal with the situation. While the waitress was apologetic, our brunch was ruined. Poor atmosphere and terrible management make this a restaurant to avoid. Charlottesville has plenty of other options for this price.

The drinks and apps were acceptable, but the brisket platter I received was awful. The beans were mushy, soggy and bland. The brisket came mulched up, which I have never seen before, and was dry and bland. The picture is how the plate came to me. Covered in grease and water logged from the beans. I took 2 bites and sent it back. The chicken and waffles I recieved was much better, but it doesnt excuse the food prior. Im also unhappy to report that later that afternoon I seemed to have had a bout of what I can only assume to be a mild case of food poisoning, complete with all the usual signs and symptoms. I know it came from here as I had no other food prior to this meal and nothing after before the symptoms occured.

Brunch on a Wednesday. Ordered shrimp n grit, farm market plate, and sausage and buttermilk pancake as sides. Food was delicious! Took a long time to serve though.

I feel conflicted about this place, mostly because I was super excited for it. It’s a cute place and really cozy. The woman who seated us was so nice and enthusiastic! Looking at the menu, everything looked like it could be delicious! Once we got our food, we were visually pleased. The given stars are for the look of the restaurant, the nice woman up front, and the presentation of food. Things kind of went downhill from there. We got the Biscuit Board - the biscuits were dry and the gravy was cold. We did like the preserves a lot! I feel like it was overpriced for what it was. My Ofelia’s Benedict was lackluster. It was warmer than the gravy, but it was also kind of room temp. The eggs were way over cooked and weren’t runny at all. It didn’t seem like anything had much seasoning, including the fried green tomatoes and asparagus. As for the hollandaise, it was decent to taste on its own, but the flavor was lost with everything else. My boyfriend got the Cajun Breakfast Sandwich…which he also didn’t love. There was minimal aioli on it; he couldn’t taste it and had to request more. Because of this, it was dry and that made the arugula hard to deal with. Although it had andouille sausage on it, it was small (especially versus the size of the sandwich) and was just placed kind of diagonal across the bread. His egg was overcooked as well. Basically the sandwich filling wasn’t proportional at all and it was also pretty bland. We ordered espresso first thing, which took quite a while to get. Our server was nice, but not very attentive. It took almost the entire time spent there to get a refill of water. We absolutely love going to breakfast joints when we’re out of town, but this visit was disappointing. I hope it was just an off day.

Really great food. Went with my son and we both had the buttermilk pancakes. They were excellent. Great atmosphere and terrific service. The only odd thing was we both ordered sides of bacon. Out came two measly thin pieces of bacon. It tasted great but perhaps a few more pieces Would Be Appropriate.

Beautiful place. Amazing brunch menu. Prices fair. The problem was the server didn’t bring one of the three dishes. Two of us waited another ten minutes (my entree cooling) while they prepared the entree for the third person. No offer of compensation for a big mistake.

Always a favorite when we are in Charlottesville! Service is always fast and efficient and friendly and the food is amazing. Bananas Foster French toast is always a hit and the chicken and waffles are a generous serving of deliciousness! Ophelia’s eggs Benedict is a healthy favorite as well. Make reservations as tables can be hard to get as this is a favorite place for many.

Breakfast is always one of my favorite meals of the day. Start off with a good Breakfast and the rest of the day runs smoothly. So on a recent trip that had us staying in the Charlottesville area overnight, we opted out of the Breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn and headed into town. Looking at tripadvisor, we found the 10 best breakfasts that were open on a Sunday. We found it difficult to find the Restaurant, as the only Sign above the door didn’t stand out well enough, especially when you’re trying to navigate the small streets. But, once inside, we were seated in a back room separated from the other 7 tables in the room. The Coffee was excellent. The menu consisted of a lot of catchy, humorous names for items. We decided on the “Game of Scones”, which looking at the menu online, now consists of 4 scones for $8. When we were there last Sunday, it was 3 Scones and we asked to add one, which cost us $9.00. They were all fairly small, dense scones. We took two different flavored ones, and despite their size, cut them in half so we could each get a taste. We wound up taking the other two scones with us, but sadly, never found time to enjoy them. My wife ordered the Avocado Egg Bake Brunch, which is Two Eggs Baked in Avocado Halves, with Toasted Baguette, Hash Browns and Tomato Chutney. She told me she enjoyed it. I had the Steak Bowl: Marinated Tenderloin, Home Fries, Peppers, Mushrooms, Fried Egg, and Cajun Béarnaise Sauce, which, if memory serves me right (it was a week ago from this writing) I enjoyed, but found a few “very chewy” pieces of meat and I believe there were Sausages that threw a little heat. I requested there be no heat, but that request fell on deaf ears. The whole dish came jumbled together.

If you are looking for a good breakfast place, this is great. I did like the atmosphere. The menu had some unusual items like eggs on avocado (eggs served inside the avocado, in the space created by the pit). The service was good as well.

Such a very cute quaint brunch spot. I loved the renovations of this older home into a restaurant. Lots of healthier brunch options. Prices were very reasonable. The food was fresh and tasty. The beignets were very delicious, worthy of getting. Excellent customer service! This is a must try. I will be back.
