Best place to chill out and have nice talk with friends. Not crowded by party goers.
Good food and great service!
Some people go to Court Square Tavern for the food and drinks. I go for the people. I met this guy named John who taught me more about the Civil War than my college professor. Also, the staff is awesome. The bartender, Sean Tubbs, is a legend! He makes everyone feel at home. Can’t say enough good things about the place.
Most European bar in town
I love the wide selection of European beer. Germans and Belgians are my favorite, and they are hard to find elsewhere.
This is about as close to a traditional pub as I have found in Charlottesville.
My wife and I always go when our favorite bartender is working.
Worked here (with Jeff, Britton, Lorna), drank here, got to know the lovely Milton Branham here (r.i.p), and even kinda got engaged here...
A hidden
Went on a Saturday night and were the only ones there for an hour. Server(?) was unhelpful with the menu and didn't seem to listen (had to ask for the check 3 times). Could literally hear him microwaving the instant coffee. Food was microwave dinner level in portions that made most appetizers look like a main course. Walked down to Main St afterwards and had so many regrets.
