this is a great (fantastic) restaurant. I've been a loyal customer for years, and years, and year. BUT ... the staff shortage must have caught up because this is the first time the folks were rude to me. the lady who seated us picked a terrible location, where all the traffic hustles by. the place was at most half full, and I asked if we could have a different table. I wasn't rude, but you would have thought I was the worst of humanity by the way she responded. and she let me know, and my family know, how much she loathed me. I laughed it off. my kids were accepting of it, but not happy. my wife not happy - more with me for asking for a different table to begin with. but, anyway, a very bad vibe for sure. that won't stop me (us) from coming back, because I truly feel valued there. and it is a great spot. but, burtons, I hope you dig deeper and find a way.
Ever wish you had a place to go where everyone was kind, treated you like an old friend, the food was great and the drinks even better? Burton's Charlottesville is that place. The staff is professional but treats you like you're a VIP and Hazel at the bar is amazing! Celebrating something? Ask her for her dessert martini. Not on the menu but knock-your-socks-off delicious! Even if you're just passing through, completely worth the stop!
We have been to burtons multiple times, it’s a great local restaurant around the Charlottesville area.Service: Servers have always been friendly and checked up on us multiple times. They always have some good food recommendations. The bar is also good, nice ambiance and very nice drink menu.Food/Drinks: It is always good and tasty. We haven’t had any issues every time. The portions are smaller but the quality is really good.Prices: Little on the pricier side but you get quality food and beverages.Overall Value: A well put restaurant. I will go again in the future.
Had a burger there recently. Cooked medium rare. Made me sick. Up all night afterwards dealing with it. There may be some slippages in sanitary procedures there. As a precaution, make sure your burgers are completely cooked -- to well done.
FOOD ALLERGY FRIENDLY.The food is absolutely amazing. Appetizers, sandwiches, salads, bowls, main entrees. Everything is quality food and unique combinations. I really enjoy the General Tso bowl and also various salads during my visits. My table usually gets the spinach artichoke dish every visit. If you think you'll have food to take home, you won't, it's so good you'll clean the plate!I have never been to a restaurant where I was respected for having food allergies. They ASK if anyone has allergies. If you do, your order is written separate from others and brought out separate from others. They make all of their food, so no hidden ingredients. They can tell you everything that goes into your dish. They are familiar with alpha-gal. I've never left here with hives or upset stomach. It's so refreshing not worrying about what my meal may do to me.Staff has always been attentive and efficient. You will NOT go wrong coming here.
Great food. Open kitchen. Wonderful service. Has both a bar and dining areas. Reservations recommended. I highly recommend the seafood. Spinach dip appetizer is really good. Wine list in not extensive but adequate. Casual to business casual atmosphere but you can still dress up if you want to feel special.
Hamberger's are huge and not for the faint of heart, literally. If you can eat it, it's fantastic. Other sandwiches and salads available and just as good. Wait staff is well trained and attentive. Table seating is socially acceptable and outdoor dining is excellent. Varied menu suits most taste. Restaurant is in contempoary upscale street type commercial mail and room itself is high ceiling and basic design. Kitchen is open type and cooking is visible.
Sufficiently elegant for those looking for a higher-end experience (superb service, 90% cotton linens, house-made delicious Bloody Mary mix) while also offering classic casual American fare with lots of cheese choices, fried onion strings, etc.). Fantastic Asian-inspired cauliflower appetizer. Loved this place, table of 7.
We ordered the buffalo chicken dip and the spinach dip. Both dips were seasoned well and delicious. The buffalo chicken dip is not spicy. The spinach was fresh and the dip had a nice creamy texture. I ordered the Maxx Burger and it was prepared as requested. The onion rings on the burger were fresh and crispy. The Parmesan truffle fries were ok; my first time trying them. I would order plain fries next time. The second sandwich pictured is a California chicken sandwich. We got there as soon as they opened by the time we left an hour later there was a pretty large crowd. The staff did a wonderful job accommodating everyone.
You have to make a reservation!!! It’s worth the wait! We came all the way from Virginia Beach Virginia to enjoy our anniversary, and Burton’s made it a great experience for us.Our waitress “Jaylin” was amazing. We even asked her for some attractions for us to go and enjoy, and she came back to the table with an amazing list! The food, and staff were amazing. They had 6 chefs in the kitchen cooking, and you could tell everyone of them were smiling and enjoying their job! As I told the manager, the only thing they need to fix, is to make the establishment bigger so more people could have the same experience we did! It was hands down the best restaurant in Charlottesville!
