Great restaurant. The cauliflower wings are really good and they’ve got great sauces. I loved the drinks and the service it’s great
They’re often very busy so the service isn’t always top notch, but its pretty good and their trying their best. However, I come here often and have never had such a bad experience here in my life. Our waiter (Chris, I believe his name was) took our order and it took over an hour to get to us. We eventually learned that their kitchen had a lot of orders and was very backed up. (which is fine, their busy!) but we had to learn this by overhearing a different waiter tell their table that the kitchen was backed up. Our waiter had not a care in the world, left us clueless for over an hour and failed to tell us why our food was taking forever to get to us. We felt very unwelcome and not cared for. To add to this, he was very nonchalant when he took our order. He would kneel on the flour, rest his elbows on the table (which invaded our personal space) while he took our order on his little tablet thingy! He also kept cutting us off in the middle of sentences and was not very respectful and did not refill our water or take away our finished plates.. .I don’t think I will be a regular at this place any more since the service is cold and unwelcoming.
Without question one of the best bars on the Corner! Best wings on the Corner by a long way. The food is great and at a great price point. Beer specials are incredible. The staff is incredibly personable and helpful. I go there a lot and having lived in Charlottesville for a very long time, its my go to preference.
Very much hit or miss. They be good when they’re good, but they be bad when they are bad. The first time I ate here, I got one taco and it was delicious on a grilled tortilla and very fully stuffed. However, I went there this week and the tortilla was not even grilled and stuffing was great and all but like where my grilled tortilla at? I don’t want no raw tortilla. Period. Also, went here a couple weeks ago and they were open until 12 on a Friday night. But this friday I went there and they were closed at 10:30 PM. No change of hours on their website and they can’t just change the hours whenever that they want . What kind of way to run a business is this??? You can’t be open at different hours every single day and change that every single week. All in all, very inconsistent but good if you get them in a good time.
first of all, their hours are never updated on their website or on Google. It says they are open until 12, but I have shown up two nights this week at 11 PM and they were closed. Thanks for wasting my time. Finally got to eat here in the morning and found out they don’t actually serve you. I had to order my own food on my phone even though I was sitting at a table and dining in. if I wanted to order online I would get takeout and eat in the comfort of my own home. Food was decent but everything else about this place is a mess.
Absolutely awful. They've turned into a Taco Bell. Servers no longer take your orders; you place you order and pay using a QR code on the table. It's become very much self-service. I come to a restaurant for service, not to have to enter in my own order and have the waiter check in one me a few times. They also have a section to tip on the QR code -- Why would I tip as much as I normally do when I basically have to do the waiter's job myself.
They have servers but they don’t actually do anything important. Instead there’s a code on the table that you scan and order by yourself through that. You even have to pay by yourself. The waitress did check on us a several times and was super sweet and refilled our water, brought us bags and togo boxes, etc…but having customers order online and do everything themselves is extremely impersonal. I usually ALWAYS tip at least 20% because I know it’s important and it’s not the waitresses fault that the restaurant switched to online ordering, but I expect someone to serve me—not to have to send my own order directly to the kitchen. Bomb tacos and margs but won’t be returning unless they start functioning like a normal restaurant again.
Don’t know why the hours say “closed”, but we enjoyed a couple of beers and an appetizer sampler today about 1:30pm (12/27/21). We sat at the bar as only the downstairs was open for seating and it was pretty full. Hey, what’s not to like with $2.90 PBR drafts, right? The “sampler” included chips with small portions of salsa (mild), queso (nice and warm) and guacamole (very nice-mild). Chips are the thicker kind so they don’t break when dipping. Sampler was very nice and exactly what we were looking for today. Saw people with nachos (big portion), wings and tacos. All looked pretty darn good. So, if you are looking for a cold beer (they do have several beer selections and a full bar) and some quality yummy bar food…give this place a try.
As usual, the food was very good! The spicy BBQ wings were delicious and I was very happy with my honey Sriracha shrimp taco. The service however was very lackluster and we found ourselves having to ask other passing servers for things multiple times. At the end, the bartender brought us boxes and our check, and our original waitresses showed up after we paid to see if we needed anything! We never expect great service here (other than the bartenders. They're always top notch!) But this was by far the worse time we've had.
Humongous tacos! This is a great local stop for wings and tacos, as well as margaritas and Mexican lager. Good selections of both.Tacos are really huge though, be warned. You may not eat both and your wings if you order a combo! Wings are very meaty and extremely smoky. If you're expecting a fried or grilled wing you will be quite surprised. The smoke can be a little overpowering but my wings were juicy and delicious.
