Stopped last minute to get lunch. Both of us had beef brisket and he had pulled pork. His side was baked beans and I had a biscuit. Good food. Decently priced. Not a fan of the beans as they were more like chili to us. Clean place and overall good find. It’s good for kids and a nice stop. Not good for vegetarians.
Extremely recommended.Ace Biscuits and BBQ is one of the best places to eat breakfast/brunch in CVille. The staff is always friendly and seems to genuinely want you to enjoy your time here. Their food is unbelievable and filling. Once your plate is brought out, you may think it's not enough food until you start picking the meal apart. It's obvious that they want to put an emphasis on their scratch-made style and it really shows in how homemade everything tastes.
Had high expectations from the reviews. BBQ is a 4 of 10 on hard scale. 2 stars only bc of the friendly front of house. Other reviews mention lack of flavor and I completely agree. The mac and cheese disappointed as a replacement for the undercooked beans I sent back. New processes need be in place for afternoon biscuits for they were just not good. As for the sweet tea, I should never have to “mix” my own drink at any restaurant. Unfortunate review for a place with such great potential. One bright spot are the sauces. Very eclectic and unique. Don’t change those.
WOW! Our experience today was amazing. The chicken and waffles was wonderfully flavorful. My wife is pregnant and was craving something sweet and savory. She definitely enjoyed every bite. We will be back! I would skip on the hashbrowns next time and go for the fries for a better eating experience. The people serving and making food are friendly. 5 stars! we'll be back =)
Can’t go wrong, but Ole Dirty Biscuit is classic. Everyone here is super friendly and will make recommendations so just ask what’s good
Can't say enough OUTSTANDING food and very nice service.
This is the kind of place you keep coming back to until you have tried everything on the menu. Their chicken and waffles are amazing. Boneless thigh fried super crispy, syrup and a hot sauce on the side, fluffy waffle perfection.. just add butter! They are coffee aficionados to boot. This isn’t just breakfast… lunch and dinner winners as well!
We eat at a lot of restaurants during our time on the road, my husband is a truck driver, and this is by far one of the BEST places we have dined in. The owner is extremely kind and courteous, he even offered to come outside and direct traffic if we needed help pulling out in our semi truck. By the way there isn't parking for semi's but we found a little spot to park in and luckily my husband is good at getting in and out of small areas with the semi or we might have hit something trying to leave. Anyway everything they serve is made in house which is important to us because I don't like the taste of frozen food very much. They even have juices they make in house and the butter is REAL. I can't say enough great things about this place I am pleasantly surprised at how kind they are and how good the food was. Also my husband ordered the brisket biscuit and he said it was the best brisket biscuit he has ever had, I had a build your own bacon ,egg, and cheese with a side of sausage gravy. We most definitely will be back when in the area and if you are in the Charlottesville area don't pass this place up, you will be so happy with the entire experience!
While working in the C’ville area I was checking social media and found this place was highly rated for breakfast, so I gave it a try on a weekday morning. When I got there, they weren’t busy at all, only one other customer inside. The gentleman working the counter was very friendly and helpful and described a few menu items to me, as well as how they made them. I like his description of making the gravy for the biscuits & gravy. I also like his description of the Tommy Pastrami, so I got both. The place is nicely done in an industrial theme with cool artwork on the walls. Their coffee is self-service and it’s in a pump urn on the counter. The food was decent when I went… I really liked the smoke and spice on the pastrami, but it was on the dry side. The biscuits were interesting and square, but too thin and also slightly dry. The flavors of the sandwich were pretty decent. Gravy for the biscuit was really nicely done, slightly spicy. Overall, I thought it was decent, but not spectacular, which you would hope with they have such an interesting
Brisket was a little dry, sauce not to my taste, the biscuits a little gluey, but the fried green tomatoes w pimento cheese were great!! Too much styrofoam… need more climate consciousness….
