I wanted to love it!! Had very high expectations. Giving it a three because of the drinks and our sever was an older women and was very accommodating. Tamales tasted like it was packed with other food if that makes sense...I have had my share and this was just bad. Chips weren't fresh ? it was a total miss in the food portion. I will have to go back to my spots to make up for it ?
This place looked so good from the pictures and reviews so we gave it a try. I asked if they served chicken nachos with queso cheese since it says "traditional mexican food", and the server said yes. When you order chicken nachos you can choose between 4 each starting at 9.50 and then goes up to 8 each for close to $15. I was a little confused, so I asked again if it came with queso cheese dip on it like regular nachos generally do and she said yes. So I had a bad feeling about it after she walked away and told my wife I think we ordered 4 nacho chips while trying to be funny. Yep, that's what we got. It was a pretty disappointing experience overall and a let down from our expectations. The chips and salsa was not the best tasting and was a little bland. The chicken tasted good on top of the chip, but was blown away that I just ordered four nacho chips for $10. Maybe other food options are better.
We’ve been going to Picante! For years. The servers are always friendly and the food is usually good. We had the ceviche this time, which was in a red sauce. I wasn’t a fan of the sauce. This was the first time our food selection was so-so. Thankfully the margarita I ordered was good. ? They also have a nice selection of tequila.
Picante has a special place in my heart. When I was really young, I lived right near the Chantilly location, and would go here for my birthday and order the cheese enchiladas. I always remembered their enchiladas being way way better than other restaurant's enchiladas, but I wasn't sure if it was just nostalgia talking. But I had the opportunity recently to go here again to see if it lived up to my expectations, and it ABSOLUTELY did! Still haven't found a Mexican restaurant even close to as good as Picante. I'm a huge fan. Absolute 10/10. Wish I lived closer! I would go here at least once a week!
Picante is a wonderful restaurant with great food and great staff. You are always welcomed in and everyone is super friendly and attentive. The food is consistent each time I go and tastes great! It is priced very reasonably as well.
Great food good service. Enjoy the atmosphere.
Great food, wide selection of Mexican favorites. Good wait staff that is very friendly. For those worried about COVID the tables are spread wide and appears some may have been removed. Either way good food awaits.
This place is terrible in all aspects. Super expensive, little to no seasoning, every little extra thing costs money, and worst of all, no cheese. Obviously, there is the bean and cheese burrito or cheese enchilada, but everything else costs 3.50 for cheese. The fajitas and super bland and they don't come with things on the side like guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream so they basically force you to order the sides if you want a flavorful meal. The only thing good there are the drinks and salsa.
Can we talk about how delicious this place is? It is such a colorful restaurant, with beautiful stained glass ornaments. The food is delicious and the service is friendly. If you become a regular they'll definitely make you feel appreciated. Came back after months of not dining in due to the pandemic and they recognized us right away.
Nice staff.. colorful place..food was good.
