Positives: Phenomenal quality of meat. Interior decor is chic, and the ambiance is relaxed. Attentive and kind wait staff. Pricing is perfect for quality and selection of meats.Negatives: Their side dishes aren't as great as other KBBQ places.Overall taste: 9.5/10. Four stars. Great.
AMAZING melt-in-your-mouth quality beef. Not as noisy as a typical Korean bbq restaurant. Attentive staff. This place may be the new best in town. I wish they had the super thin cold noodles though.Bonus: I didn't smell like I brought the whole kitchen home with me later. I can't wait to go back!
Had a Mother's Day lunch here and it was a wonderful experience. We reserved in advance on the prior Wednesday without any issues and were able to get seated within a few minutes of our reservation time at 12pm. It was a little chaotic at first as there were people trying to jump ahead of others to snag a table first, even with reservations. This was due to the host not showing up today, as mentioned by the owner when making his rounds. He was apologetic for any inconveniences and offered to pay for one of our appetizers as a gesture of good will, which worked out to be a nice Mother's Day offering. We opted for the beef tartare, which was an excellent choice. The menu is very straightforward, one could order varying levels of meat combos each with different cuts of meat, and an assortment of appetizers, a la carte items, and drinks. There's also a dessert menu conveniently hanging on the wall at our table. Along with the beef tartare we went with the oysters, and premium beef guide for 2, and the premium pork guide for 2. For a group of 4 adults and a child, this proved to be just the right amount of food as we felt very full by the end! Each guide came with a scallion salad and some hot stew. Banchan and rice are also provided. The servers expertly help each table cook the meats for them and are very attentive, friendly, and polite. The cuts of meat we ordered were premium, and it showed. Each piece was very tender and delicious even in its own without the dipping sauce or extra salt. My personal favorite was the ribeye. The overall vibe is reminiscent of an upscale, fine dining establishment, all thanks to the well-arranged decor and ambient jazz music playing over the speaker system. I could see this being a perfect date night spot for couples.I do have some constructive criticism, that I hope isn't taken the wrong way: service could be tightened up a bit. Although we were well taken care of, we felt our servers didn't visit our table as frequently as we had hoped and oftentimes found ourselves trying to get one to come to our table. Upon seating, it took a while for us to place an order in for anything, it just so happened we were approached by the owner when we finally could get service as mentioned earlier. Towards the end of our meal, visits from our servers once again waned. I 100% understand the chaos going on behind the scenes at any restaurant on special days like today and I'm willing to chalk up any inconsistencies to that. During our meal we had disposable paper napkins which were fine, but cloth napkins would have been a welcome touch, I feel like that was what was missing from our dining experience.Overall, as it was our first time here, I felt we had a good time despite the inconsistencies. We opted out of dessert as we were very full, but next time we'll give it a shot. To the owners and stakeholders, you have something special here and we wish you all the best!
My wife and I have been here twice now and absolutely love it! We've been here just the two of us as well as a double date. The double date was fun because we got to order both the Premium Beef and Premium Pork so everyone got a bit of everything. The cheesecake was a perfect finish to the evening. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Definitely worth visiting!
Amazing service and amazing food. Jay Do was our host and did an fantastic job preparing the meat. Everything was very delicious and it was a nice atmosphere. Had a very relaxing and enjoyable meal.
Is fantastic place to get Korean barbecue that is honestly more of a steakhouse vibe.. This is though the best Korean barbecue in northern Virginia. It is not cheap nor should it be should it be so patrons beware. Our server/cook was amazing and his recommendations were on point.. I will definitely be going back here again.
How do I go back to AYCE after eating at Honest Grill? The quality from food to service was exceptional. The dry age was so tender that each bite melts in my mouth. Honestly, I was concerned about the price but after dining here, I can say it was worth every penny. Well done Honest Grill, this is definitely my new expectation for Korean BBQ.
Made reservations for my dad's birthday for dinner and was sat promptly. The decor was very modern and everything was super clean. The table banchan was already there when we were sat which is always awesome at kbbq. We got the premium meat guide for 4 and shared with 5 people and it was still a great serving size for everyone. The quality is definitely reflected in the price and found the entire experience worth it. We are definitely coming back again for the awesome food and service
Quality over quantity!! High-quality meat, service, and atmosphere. If you are looking for a perfect place for a date night and to enjoy Korean BBQ, this is the place! Servers were very attentive and grilled the meat perfectly in a timely manner.
This place is fantastic ?. Their meat quality is top notch and very fresh. I ordered the beef tartar, pork neck, and marinated galbi. The interior is decorated in a classy/modern style and provides a more upscale atmosphere, compared to the typical Korean BBQ restaurants in the area. The shocking thing about my experience here is that when I left, I did not end up smelling like KBBQ. They must use some type of sorcery for their ventilation system. Their steamed egg is different from your usual expectations, and tastes more like lobster bisque, but it was still very good and absolutely massive in portion size...can feed 3.The salad and side dishes could be better/more variety, and for the steamed egg, I would prefer if they had the traditional version instead of the custard. When I'm eating steamed eggs, I want the egg to be the star of the dish, not the seafood. The soybean soups broth was very good, but the ingredients were lacking. It had a bunch of zucchini but very little much of anything else...and a block of Tofu (I wish it was cubed).Overall, I had a great experience, and this is now one of my top recommendations for KBBQ.
