This was our first experience at this restaurant. I highly recommend reservations! They were packed. This is a relatively small, local Italian restaurant. They offer several traditional Italian menu items, but they also have specials for the day as well. The price range goes from reasonable to expensive, so they should have something for every budget. Everything we ordered was extremely tasty. We plan to return.
We went there on a Sunday night. We did not have reservations,?but we were able to sit in the bar area. The place was packed. The bartender took our drink orders and meal orders. He was excellent. My wife had the lobster ravioli and as usual it was delicious. I had the pollo fritto which was on the special order list. It was so tender and moist. I will definitely have it again. As usual the service was great
A hidden gem? The food is delicious and authentic. My regret was not knowing this place earlier! We ordered a variety of food including the bone marrow, squid ink pasta, and veal in capper sauce! Every dish from our first bite was delectable! The service is top notch. The servers were fast and attentive while giving us space to enjoy the delicious cuisine, even without the reservation (bar section). What a phenomenal Italian restaurant!
My first time eating there and I ordered to go! I have no idea that it to go menu with not the same as the dine in menu. ordered: Pasta, meat sauce & roasted potatoes. The meat sauce may as well have been taco bell mystery meat in tomato sauce. potatoes unseasoned, boring and BURNT. I might have sampled before departure but NO plastic wear or napkins were included. Neither was the receipt identify my ownership of the only visible carry out. This $27 dinner $32 pre-tipped (taken by person with attitude that didn’t expect a tip/indicate time til readiness/wasn’t there to complete delivery) didn’t live up to the fantastic atmosphere nor delicious-looking foods i saw dine-in patrons enjoying. Thus the 2 stars. Shame they have 2 different menus differentiating clientele class.
The food was delicious, I got the Manicotti and it was great. My waitress was very helpful in figuring out what I could eat with my allergies and stomach issues and I really appreciated that. The decor was wonderful as well, with various beautiful paintings in the walls.
I visited on a quiet Monday evening for some pre-game watching eating. Found my way to the longer bar (they have two actually — one about eight seats and the other three). Sam was one of the most pleasantly engaging barkeeps I have experienced in quite some time. He provided recommendations as well as a detailed explanation of the pizza oven and food philosophy of the restaurant and instances when owners greet customers.I ordered a hearts of palm salad, octopus with asparagus, and meatball/fries sides to eat there. I also took a superiore pizza and tiramisu dessert to go. The salad had great portions and proportions of ingredients (hearts of palm, artichokes, red peppers, and olives) which tasted crisp and fresh. My first time having octopus was well rewarded with good texture and meatiness feel to the octopus and again an appreciated portion size. Nice acidity from the accompanying lemon caper sauce too. Sam’s recommendation on the meatballs was well placed, as I enjoyed three meatballs that had good meat flavor with little binder, texture not too soft and not too firm, and fresh marinara. Fries were crisp and hot as well as not salty at all. I liked experiencing pizza the Italian way — lightly sauced with nearly perfect topping proportion, a little char on the bottom, and a great tasting crust. Ending with the homemade tiramisu (first time eating this dessert ever) was definitely the right call. Soft but such a light interior, well controlled sweetness from the marscapone cheese, and just the right amount of cocoa powder.Prices seem only slightly higher than what might be typical for the area. I definitely feel one can get satisfying value in any section of the menu. I have to try one of the pastas on my next visit and maybe a special or two and the housemade cannoli. I can totally see why this place has the popularity it does!
Really enjoyed our dinner at Ciao Osteria, the food was delicious. Our server could have been slightly more attentive but that said when we asked the person who brought our food from the kitchen for something word got back to the staff and received what we asked for so definitely good communication there. Nice touch for the owner to come by during our meal!
Solid locally-owned Italian restaurant in the Centreville area. Convenient location with plenty of parking. Made a reservation via Yelp app and the entire process was streamlined. Hostess was friendly and seated us immediately.Server was very personable and clearly passionate about her work. Our dishes were all flavorful with decent sized portions. Pizza was good but I'd recommend they bake them slightly more as it was a bit soggy.Prices are on the higher end but worth it for quality Italian food.Overall, definitely recommend giving them a try.
The service was faster than we would have liked, which we do understand is am odd complaint. We just had zero space between appetizer and entrées. We would have expected a more leisurely experience, especially for the price. The wine was good, staff was friendly, and food was delicious! We will be back.
Delightful, memorable and wholesome dining experience. Great hospitality. Friendly server.
