My husband and I always love Mellow Mushroom, so when we were traveling through Bristol, we decided to stop. The pizza was good, but the service wasn’t great. We ordered an appetizer and probably waited around 20-25 minutes for that. We went around 1:30 and the place wasn’t busy at all. The waitress was nice but not very attentive. The pizza took another 20-25 minutes after the appetizer came out. Good food, but don’t expect to be in and out quickly! I’m glad the Mellow Mushroom where we live is much better!
One of the best pizzas in the area. The crust is wood-fired til crispy and the toppings always seem fresh. If you don’t mind a wait, stop in for the huge beer list and and spicy beer cheese!Great service and atmosphere.If you want more than one pizza, go halfsies!
It is unfortunate that the management of this Mellow Mushroom would cause it to have 1 star. We were in Bristol for a baseball tournament. We saw Mellow Mushroom and decided to do a to-go order. They said it would be 35 mins until pick up. At 55 minutes, we were still waiting to get the food. If my husband had not already paid, he would have walked out. The girl at the front was extremely nice and continued to apologize. She said that the wings were messed up on the order and they had to re-do them. We order a small salad, one pizza, and 10 wings. In no way should that have taken that long. It was a Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. and the parking lot wasn’t even halfway full. That should have been a sign. We were not provided with utensils, a bag to carry the items, and no one was even in a hurry to make things right. I get that things happen, but this was not handled properly.

Stopped in for lunch on our way to Bristol Dirt Nationals. Had the mighty meaty pizza. Crispy crust and plenty of toppings. highly recommend. Very friendly staff. Wish we had one closer to home.
This place makes the best pizza. I’ve been to quite a few other Mellow Mushrooms but this one is my favorite. Our waitress Taylor was very nice and attentive. We ordered the tie dye vegan pizza even though it’s no longer on the menu they prepared it. The crust was delicious and the tempeh on it is the best I’ve had. We’ll definitely be back here.
We arrived at Mellow Mushroom today 2-27-22 at 11:30. When we were seated there were 2 other tables. The hostess advised the bartender was the only server. We were ok with that since the tables seemed to have already ordered. We ordered our drinks and waited. Order our pizza and continued to wait. We sat and waited and waited and waited. After 45 minutes passed and we still do not have our pizza. The server brought out the pizza stand and plates. So we are thinking here comes our pizza (there was one sitting in the window). The server gets it and takes it to a table that ordered well after us. The server walks to the window to check on our order, in which the blonde hair guy wearing the orange shirt slams his hand down on the counter in disgust. The server tells us the order is coming out now an hour later. We watch another couple of pizzas come and go. It has now been an hour and a half my husband calls the server over and asked what is going on? Why have tables that were seated half an hour after us getting their food? She said yes sir what happened was your ticket got lost and they are prepping your order now so another 10 minutes. My husband said no thank you and we got up a left at 1:15. We have a 18 month old toddler who was hungry and getting cranky having to sit there that long. We ended up going to Pizza Hut and got far better service and faster.
I have to leave a good review for the Bristol, VA location… went there for lunch today. They appeared to be short staffed. But our waitress (I really wish I’d got her name) was exceptional. She was so friendly. Gave us a discount because of our wait (although that wasn’t necessary, we appreciated it). And then when we got in the car to leave, my car broke down as we were leaving. Tow truck came and left… We had to wait over 2 hours on a ride. It was like 30 degrees outside, so we went back in the restaurant. Told them the situation. They had no problem with us waiting inside. They offered us drinks and told us if we needed anything to let them know. I really do appreciate the kindness they showed us today!!! Also, our food was delicious. Thanks so much!
My new #1 spot in the Bristol area! This place is absolutely awesome! The pizza was the best I've had in years, cheese sticks and wings were great and the cocktails were amazing. It is a little more expensive than most pizza places but is so much worth the few extra bucks for the atmosphere, the fun and friendly staff, and definitely the best pizza in the area.
