Visited for the first time tonight in town for a college tour. The menu looked delicious and so reasonable we decided to try this spot for dinner - so glad we did! The restaurant is adorable and the service was excellent right from the front desk. Our server Julianne was fantastic, so sweet and very knowledgeable about the menu. The homemade bread was delicious, as were all 3 of our entrees. The homemade ravioli was outstanding, as was my gnocchi entree (garlic cream sauce, spinach, sun dried tomatoes- just delicious) Just had a glass of the house Chardonnay, which was very good, but they also have an outstanding wine selection. Can’t wait to come again!
Zeppoli’s is my go-to restaurant! It’s the perfect place to have a casual week-night dinner, weekend date night, or big, fabulous event. Not only is all the staff always great, but the owner speaks to us every time we go in. They know how to make you feel at home while eating food that makes you feel like you teleported to Italy! Be sure to check out their super fun events. It’s hard for me not to attend every single one of them! If you are looking up restaurant reviews - no matter the occasion - this is the place to go!
My friend invited me to this restaurant for a wine tasting event and I’m so surprised I’d never heard of it before! We went back with my partner for dinner and it was delicious! Definitely my new favorite Italian restaurant.
Some of the best Italian food I've had in years. Be sure to make a reservation through their app to make sure you get a table. The University is literally across the street and if an event is going on it may be hard to get a table.
Consistently fine fare, excellent, friendly service. We always eat here when we come to Blacksburg! Nicely appointed, not stuffy, reasonable prices. Kim, our server, is delightful and engaging. 'Can't wait to eat here often over the next four years; when we visit VT!
Disappointed. I typically come to zeppolis when on business here mostly because I used to go here regularly when I lived here. The food is fine and they have a nice selection of wine. I typically have dinner with a bottle of wine and bring the left overs to nearby hotel. The location is a short walk from my hotel Today they would not seat me as a sole diner. They were busy with a special event which hopefully was the reason. If you are alone, call before going. Avelinos is two miles away and will sit you. It is very good with some nice wine also.
I made a mistake making the reservation through the app. I found out 2 hours prior to the planned valentines dinner. I called and the mgt was very kind and found a way to make it work and I am very grateful. Wonderfully authentic food. Our server Stephanie was extremely pleasant and attentive. Highly recommend.
My daughter Meghan chose Zeppoli's for her Fall 2021 Graduation from VT, so the night was special for us. We had 10 guests and 9 different meals plus appetizers and drinks. Our waitress Makenzie was spot on perfect!!! Even though a reasonable gratuity was included in the bill for the larger group I gave her additional $$$ because she is that good. Each entrée delivered to the right person with no hesitation on remembering who ordered what. All of the food was delicious and hot. Thank you chef and kitchen staff! Everyone in our family was more than happy with their meal and my daughter said it was the best Gnocchi she every had.Thank you again to everyone especially Makenzie for making our celebration one for the memory books. Hope to be back soon.
The food and service was excellent, especially the delicious salmon dish I ate. They also have gluten free pasta alternatives, which is what I ordered and it was so yummy I even double checked with my server that it wasn't regular pasta. It was gf, but very tasty. I definitely recommend Zeppolis and will be back again. They're probably the best Italian restaurant in the New River Valley.
The restaurant is tucked into the corner of a small shopping area, and it is somewhat cozy I suppose. Our waitress was fine, and I know a lot of the servers are college students and they are doing their best so it is hard to expect much. I had a pasta with sausage dish and it was very heavy with a thick red sauce and, honestly, it was not particularly good. I ate maybe a third of it and just chalked it up to a bad selection, but nothing much appealed to me on the menu. There is an enormous shortage of good restaurants in Blacksburg, and Zeppoli's is somewhat typical. So all in all a somewhat dull experience. I would likely not return.
