Came back from MD for a wedding and wanted to visit. Cool open mike and decent drinks. I showed my ID at the door and the doorman asked me for a second form of ID. I gave him a second form of ID and he accepted but I asked why he didn't accept my MD license. He said they wanted "state ID." I asked why it wouldn't count (no easier to get a license in Maryland). He then told me I was too waisted to go in. A friend who vouched for me was also barred entry after inquiring why I wasn't let in. Terrible service.

This is hands down my favorite bar in Blacksburg. Super fair prices and delicious food every single time. Michelle is incredibly nice and attentive and I’ve never had a negative experience with any of their staff. Go at night and see a live band and dance or go during the day and have a gourmet grilled cheese. The vibe always passes!
I am an out of state student from Washington, over 21. The past few times I have visited Milk Parlor the bouncer has been extremely rude, especially regarding my ID. I completely understand the need to verify identification, and look out for fake IDs, but I have provided a second form of identification (passport photo and credit card) multiple times and was still turned away. The bouncer even bent my Intermediate Identification card after showing him my passport photo. I had to pay to get it replaced, and when I visited again this evening, he tried to break my new Real ID. I politely asked him to not bend my ID, to which he replied “if it’s real it won’t break.” The last time I visited, it bent (did not break as it was real) but still creased. Staff needs better training in customer service and identifying both real and fake IDs. I have never had an issue at any other bar in Blacksburg.
If you’re from out of town bring a second form of ID or you can’t order. I only had my license and a gift card on me so I ended just going back to the hotel.
Great service, great atmosphere, clean restrooms. Top bar in Blacksburg, even though its underground. Must try their famous 99Bananas shot.
