Usually a good time had by all, unfortunately when I took my family to this one we were greeted by one person leaving(didn't mind at all) and the other scowling(still didn't really mind). Got a table and waited and waited and waited, till we were able to flag down a hostess to let them know we had not been greeted yet, only to wait some more. We left. 3 stars for past performance, but I hope they get some more staff.

Seriously annoyed and dissappointed with their service. Ordered online at around 7:15pm and asked for curbside pickup. They told me to arrive at 7:44pm. I arrived at around 7:43pm. When it was around 7:50pm and I saw no sign of them, I called them. They told me they are going to deliver me the order within a few minutes. At around 8, I called them again as I saw no one was coming out with my order. The person who picked up the phone said he didn't know how much delay there would be in extra. Sometime later a waiter came over and she said my order was coming in a few minutes. To my surprise, I saw that someone came to the curbside after me at around 8:05 and got his order. But still no sign of delivering me my order. Finally at around 8:10pm I got my order. Seems like this restaurant thinks that they can just waste people's time. If you think you are going to be late why cant you just mention it early on? Whats the point of wasting my 30 minutes? Talk about being unprofessional.
The pizza is always great! Bartender was fantastic.
We had a great experience this morning. Our server was very sweet and attentive. We got the pretzel bites with beer cheese and the cheese was to die for. My boyfriend got a Mediterranean pizza and I got a half Buffalo chicken half pork pizza. Both were delicious. They have a nice selection of craft beer and a great mixed drink menu.

As a local business, this past weekend we all shared our in a community tragedy. It was nice to walk in and be warmly greeted and quickly seated. The management team came over and personally thanked my wife and I for our efforts and we too acknowledged their efforts. To top off a much tiring day on both businesses part, Melli Mushroom did not miss a beat when unknowingly to us they brought my wife a complementary dessert for her birthday. I’ve lived in Blacksburg almost my whole life. This Mellow Mushroom is one of the best things to ever bless Blacksburg! The employees are very respectful, & they treat you like they care about you! The pizzas are amazing every single time! Absolutely love this place. I dine here alone sometimes, or with my kids. My husband comes with me when he’s not busy.
We were a little weary being seated at a table right next to the open kitchen but boy were we delighted! Hearing the camaraderie among the cooks really made our day as they were very funny while working so hard. The manager stopped by to apologize in case the noise was bothering us but we told her that we were quite enjoying ourselves. Her “dinner and a show” comment made us laugh too. Thanks Mellow Mushroom, you guys are all a blast!
