Never have I been to a Mexican restaurant where the staff was so tired of people. This Virginia location is barely a tenth of the quality of other locations in Florida, maybe cause folks there have other Spanish options and know they can get better food and service elsewhere.Food didn't come out as described, tried the quesadilla rellena and looked nothing like the picture or description. It came out like a fried fajita taco hybrid. The carnitas dinner, also not as advertised. A couple ordered a chili relleno, and missed the mark.Music was playing mostly for the staff in the back to hear. No checking in to see how the food was. No checking in for refills. They were tired of people and it showed.
I've been going for years.It has good food.Decent prices.But the same decorations has been up for years.It needs a bit of maintenance/repair to some booths, etc.It can use a bit more attention to thorough dusting & cleaning.Staff is friendly & dishes are good.Investing in cleanliness & new decor will definitely go a long way.

I cannot believe that I had not eaten here before!! I went with a friend recently and was amazed by how great the food and the service was!!!It was homemade and delicious! I have lived all over the US and this is high on my list of classic Mexican restaurants! I am craving their refried beans and the chicken fajitas had the best char and the onions and peppers were carmelized so well! And the enormous lime margarita was awesome!!! I will for sure be back there soon!!!

El Mariachi is an absolute classic. No Mexican restaurant in Blacksburg/Christiansburg even comes close. The food is always on point and comes out quick. The servers are awesome and provide a great customer experience. The menu is huge and I’ve never had anything that didn’t exceed expectations. If you want awesome food with great prices this is where you should go.
