Extremely good ice cream and the milkshakes look bomb. The only thing is on a busy day (like Memorial Day) you’ll need to be patient because it takes a long time for your order to come out. It took us 20 minutes to get ours. I don’t blame them, they were packed but just know that may happen to you. Also as a parent of small kids, having those big sinks there is super helpful for cleaning up your kids before you head out.
So many options. The portions are bigger enough to share, if you want! We had the strawberry cheesecake milkshake ND the Mint chocolate brownie bowl! So delicious and such a fun place. The place is small but even with a line, we got through quickly. Staff was very friendly and shared their favorites and what was popular to help us narrow down our choices!
It's all about the presentation. The ice cream is ok, but mainly way to sweet and hard to eat out of the Mason jars with so much stuff added to it. My kids enjoyed seeing the creations, but I probably won't be back (one and done kind of place). They were very crowded with no room to sit and had a very long wait time. I would prefer better ice cream for a much lower price.
Love this place! The milkshakes are delicious and worth the money. Be prepared to spend close to 20 dollars for one milkshake though.
Love the place. Service also great. We had milkshake and ice cream. Both were delish!!!! You can also take the glass home!!!
Milkshake lovers unite! This is a fun spot to adventure for something that will more than delight your sweet tooth. Specialty milkshakes are also offered in glass mason jars that you can have as a keepsake! (I already have two, hence the regular cup here).I first found the Yard Milkshake Bar in VA Beach visiting, so I was delighted to discover a location in Northern VA. The staff was super sweet and they even have a station tk rinse out your jars after you finish the delicious milkshake. Make sure you saved room for dessert before you stop here!
The sundaes are gorgeous but I couldn't get over two things. The first being cost, $17 for a sundae is ludicrous. I realize that's because you get to keep the jar, but the alternative price of (I believe) $11 still feels too high. $11 feels too high because of the second reason, that everything tasted so utterly artificial and processed that eating the sundae was not the pleasant experience I was hoping for.It doesn't help that the ice cream isn't made in the shop, which is what I expected going in, but is Hershey's brand ice cream.Maybe I didn't make the best choice, maybe a different sundae would have been better, but my girlfriend's sundae was similarly disappointing. If I'm going to spend that much per sundae I'm going somewhere else. The jar is kinda nice though, I'll be using that for bloody Marys or something.
My first visit and I have to say it was quite enjoyable. The space is a bit small but the line moves pretty quickly. Ordering is simple enough: just look at the walls behind the counter to see all the deliciousness they have to offer. I had the 'Not Milk?' the cookie on top was the perfect cookie. Mix that with the delicious milkshake and whipped cream and you can't go wrong!! Overall, this is a place to visit again when in the area.
I have been to a few of these type of extravagant, decadent milkshake places before and to be honest.. they always sucked. They would use substandard ingredients and while aesthetically pleasing it tasted like multicolored garbage. Thankfully, The yard milkshake was not this. It was great. I highly recommend it. I got the cookie butter me up. Special shout out to raymundo who was my server. He was patient and accommodating as it was my first time here and I had a tried a few flavors.
Poor ownership.First thing is they falsely advertise their prices in store and online. Both their website and in store menu state their specialty pint is $17 but actually charged 17.56 before tax at the register.Second they seem to be heavily under staffed. The poor cashier/employee was working on his own trying fufill about 10 pending orders at once while some old guy in the back just went back and hid. I had to ask the poor cashier to cancel my order after about 30 minutes because another large group had just come in and I really didn't want to wait any longer.
