It was better than it is now. The floors are sticky. The bathrooms don't get cleaned well. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Staff turnover is high. The food quality and portions size has gone way down over the last year. The cashier, who is also frequently the owner, expects a guilt tip with every credit card transaction. This place feels like its on the verge of closing down. I won't be returning anymore.
We’ve been in town a month and have come here more than four times and it’s delicious and and consistent! Service is always great and food A+++ I forgot to take pics on my other visits but the Shrimp po boy, lobster grill cheese, epic burrito and bowls are great!
Ordered the Surf n Turf burger. It was ok, neither the lobster topping or the burger patty had life changing flavor, but it was satisfying overall. The fries were hot and seasoned.
We had the "Clobster" grilled cheese and clam chowder. Delicious, highly recommend. The staff were courteous and the restaurant was clean. Great experience, we will be back.
Underwhelming for the price. Ramen burrito is so-so. Sauce provided flavor, but be warned you'll get half a claw of lobster on top of the burrito and then maybe 3 shrimp. The noodles were spaghetti and not ramen noodles. Lobster roll was plain, no butter on the side at all. Salad was fresh, but the vinaigrette was basically vinegar with nothing else mixed in. Perhaps their poke bowls are their main money-makers and they actually have flavor and a proper amount of seafood within...but that will be someone else's job to figure out. This place has a lot to improve on ranging from service to the food. I am not sure I'd eat here again after my experience. I can recommend 3 different seafood joints in the Ashburn area before I recommend this place.
The shrimp and lobster ramen burrito is a figurative and literal mouthful. Way more seafood in the burrito than i expected, there was a fried egg right underneath the burrito too which was delicious. Fantastic burrito, i will even forgive the sins of its ceviche which on the flip side was the worst ceviche i ever tasted. Taquitos and clobster grilled cheese were very okay ?
I typically do not look at other people's reviews, because I do not want to be influenced by them. I ran into Slapfish on one of the food delivery apps and couldn't help myself... the name was just too inviting! After drooling over the menu and being upset that we couldn't order anything (one of the kids is allergic to shellfish - it's a real drag), we decided to have a date night on kid-free Friday. We arrived at One Loudoun and just WOW! Amazing place (I guess I'll have to review that at some point). We located Slapfish and hurried over. It was about 5:15 pm and the place was completely empty. I greeted the cashier at the other end of the room but perhaps she didn't hear me.The reviews are about right. The food is mostly delicious, the service "eh" and everything is a bit sticky. I dubbed it the Chipotle of Seafood mostly because it has a fast-food style setup (you have to clear your table) and it's modern but efficient.I spent $16 on the raman, lobster claw and shrimp burrito. It comes with raman, egg, spinach, carrots, one lobster claw and I think I made it to four shrimp. Lots of "something" sauce. Not good. Mostly raman.Let's talk about the side of deep-fried, house-made pickles - to die for! The pickles were so freshly made that the actual cucumber flavor was still present. I want to go back and try them not deep-fried... oh, watch your tongue! They are seriously deep-fried minutes before arriving at your table. Finally, the CLOBSTER Grilled Cheese sandwich may be the best sandwich I've ever had. It is PACKED with lobster meat and the bread is toasted just right with a nice yummy buttery crust. Do not go without trying this. Also, see that little bowl of fries? For an upcharge (not sure how much) you can (correction: WILL) get the Chowder Fries. Amazing and even though it sounds delicious, it's even better than it sounds!I will go back because I now know where to focus. I recommend going but don't expect a luxury seafood restaurant, expect what it is: The Chipotle of Seafood.
Delicious, satisfying, and savory. Slap to the senses of flavors and cooked perfectionism. All seafood menu and fish themed. Wonderful lunch.
I had been eyeballing this place for some time whenever I go to One Loudoun. I was a little skeptical because I'm picky about my seafood. I kept going to Zoe's Kitchen down the block but they have disappointed me one too many times, hence I was in search of a new casual dining experience. I came to slapfish on a Saturday afternoon. The place was empty, the young lady behind the counter looked like she woke up, threw on a baggy hoody, without bothering to brush her hair. I immediately thought this is not going to be good. I ordered the lobster roll and Fish n Chips. I wasn't expecting to pay that much by the look of the place. BUT It gets better from here. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes, it was hot and looked so good. The lobster roll was one of the best I've had.The fish was crispy and golden. Cooked perfectly. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the fries. I was not a fan. It was overly seasoned. I will be back.
I’m gonna give it a 2 star because I like this restaurant but this experience wasn’t a good one. Thank you Samantha for ruining my experience. I hope they are paying u good money for the way that you acted. And I’m thinking she gave me this very disgusting looking clam chowder on purpose because I didn’t agree with her on something. But it’s cool I know not to come back when she’s working. Now I am afraid to eat my other meal because I think she may have poisoned it. That’s not how y’all clam chowder soup looks. It wasn’t edible it was a jelly like texture and I refused to taste it. If it was sitting up there for a long time u should’ve told me instead of giving me that nasty soup. Also, If I was able to get what I requested I should be able to get the same service everytime. Don’t play with me. That really ruined my night. Especially with that nasty soup. I work in Arlington I couldn’t return it. She made me never wanna come back. And atp I don’t think I will.
