Awful experience. I ordered online and after arriving to pickup, I stood around for a whole hour. Nobody knew where my order was and had no interest in finding it. Every person I asked told me to just keep waiting and continued to ignore me. Eventually, I cornered the manager and she found my order sitting on a shelf. I don't know how long it had been sitting there but all the sandwiches were soggy and lukewarm. She offered no apology.
In my opinion, I would not consider these "New York bagels". I was hoping for (expecting?) a nice, hearty, chewy bagel, but instead got something that was hard and crispy on the outside. Was there at 7am, so expected them to be fresh. Not sure if they were just baked too long, or stale, or something else about how they are made or stored. But the end result was a bagel that was not to my taste. Hope your experience is better.
Had to drop one star after last visit. Ordered 4 sandwiches and waited. After 3 people after me got their food, including a big order, and standing there for 20 minutes, without a word from them I ask about my order. They had placed it with the online/phone orders and never called out my number even though there was only a number to identify the order. Not even an apology.Prior review: Karate Bagel Dance is the best place for a bagel in the area. Have been going for years.
Best bagels in town. These folks have been around forever and with good reason. You might want to order ahead when it gets busy, but it’s well worth the wait! Bagel Karate Dance ftw
So many options for breakfast bagels and you can even build your own! Definitely a great choice for a grab and go kind of breakfast
I am an Ashburn native (yes, we do exist) and and have been coming here for over 20 years. The original shop & owners were amazing. As this place has had new owners the quality has slowly gone down to the point that I can no longer go. Our last order the bagels were so old and hard they were cracking and crumbling as I cut them. Dry and stale inside. I could hurt someone if I threw it at them. Herndon Bagel Cafe from now on
Best bagels (especially everything) I've tried in the northern Virginia area. Regarding bad reviews: they're busy. Really busy. The bagels are New York style and so are the attitudes!
Had a Sesame bagel with Jalpeno cream cheese which was spread very thin, didn't even get any taste of cream cheese for few bites. Tasted my Daughters seaseme bagel with butter and Smuckers strawberry jelly, both cases pretty lame testing bagel.
Disappointed. Walked in to try for the first time today and was very excited about the sandwich list. Ordering went smoothly, but then I stood there waiting for over an hour and 20 min for my order to be ready. It appeared that many phone orders and door-dash orders where put in-front when the driver arrived to lessen their wait. Since I had paid I wan’t going to abandon my order, but I was seriously considering it. The two sandwiches I ordered tasted great; however, the bagels were on day old side. I doubt I’ll be back.
This place is elegant with an awesome vibe. I went for breakfast and the food was amazing. The service was speedy and friendly. Their bagels are absolutely incredible! This lone visit has made this one of my favorite spots within Northern Virginia.
