Great food and good service but itâs a little noisy inside. I originally opted to sit outside because of the noise level but it was way too hot to sit outside even in the shade. So we moved back inside and just struggled hearing each other. It would be nice if they invested in some sound dampening for the dining room.
The grits, biscuits, and fried pickles were good. The âfamousâ fried chicken, not so much. The two of us ordered the exact same fried chicken dish. Each had a breast and a wing. The difference in size between the two breasts was ridiculous. Like we ordered from two different restaurants. One was large and plump, the other looked more like an anemic thigh than a breast. Then, it was the driest fried chicken Iâve had, kind of reminded me of the frozen Banquet fried chicken from the grocery store. The skin was SO not crispy, but rather chewy. Overall, Iâd rather have fried chicken at any of several other places including even Cracker Barrel than here. Just not worth the trouble finding parking, much less the price. Very disappointing.
We had a great conversation with the host. Wifeâs salad was mediocre. Appetizers of broccoli and pickles were good. Sweet and spicy chicken was fantastic. Waitress never asked if I wanted my sweet tea refilled and I discovered why when I asked her at the end of our meal. She said they had no more tea so thatâs why she never asked me if I wanted more to drink. Odd logic as you do have other drinks that she could have offered me. Otherwise, she was very pleasant. Pecan pie was burned and unfortunately I left the restaurant with that in my mouth.
It was decent. Nothing spectacular but decent.
Great brunch spot for groups or just 2 people. Drinks are a little sweet.. but overall the food is great.
The restaurant was clean and inviting, and the service was great, but we were all a bit disappointed with the food. Overall, we agreed that the food was underseasoned. The pickles just tasted like cucumbers and the Brussel sprouts and collards were very bland. Banana pudding was a highlight though.
Our previous experience with Tupelo Honey was outstanding in Myrtle Beach. Here in Arlington, not so much. Service was pleasant and engaging, but was *very* slow. Our drinks from the bar took quite some time. We ordered extra ranch with our appetizers, and the extra ranch came after we were done with the appetizers. Our main meal was delicious, but we werenât checked in on until half of our party was finished with the meal. Our waitress said she was brand new, so thereâs that. She was delightful, but has some learning to do. ð
This is the 2nd time we came for brunch and loved it the first time. I got the classic chicken and waffles again and enjoyed them as much as before. I also got the blood orange and lime mimosa, which was tasty and sour, which I like. My husband got one of the scrambles in a skillet, but it was surprisingly cold! Service recovery was quick and they brought him a new one. However, when it came time to settle the check, he was billed for 2 - the cold scrambled eggs that were sent back and the hot ones that he ate. After asking to see the detail slip and then calling it to the serverâs attention, it was removed. This review reflects the issues we experienced on Sunday.
Food was lukewarm for all four people at our brunch.
Staff was very attentive and food and drinks were promptly delivered to the table. Food was good, but not greatâcould have used some additional seasoning (shrimp and grits and fried green tomatoes mostly). A nice evening out.
