My wife walked in to the store first. To give context my wife is African-American and I am a white male. My wife was not greeted by the workers at all and was ignored as if she did not exist. However, I walked in and received warm greetings immediately. I was absolutely perturbed to find out that my wife was ignored and I would love to know the reason as I walked in a few moments after her and was greeted warmly. There were no other customers in the store so it’s not as if the representatives were too busy. And after reading some of the other reviews this seems to be a normal practice. As a dealer in fair trade one would assume that the people selling this merchandise would understand inclusivity and micro aggressions and the dangers they cause.

I love Trade Roots! Not only do I love their selection of unique home and gift items, but I love knowing my purchase is making a difference!

We LOVE Trade Roots and have been loyal customers since the community-minded gift shop opened. I’m even going there later today to buy a few items. My husband and I are also regular fixtures at the coffee/wine bar where we unfailingly order one latte and lavender lemonade, accompanied by a yummy chocolate croissant.Plus, it’s in Westover! Our favorite walkable place with terrific restaurants and Ayres Hardware Store whichis a step back in time.

This place is pretentious and reeks of cultural appropriation. And yes, I've actually been here. I'm a local and I prefer to support businesses that cater to ALL people.

It is a beautiful shop that helps you connect with artisans from around the world. Definitely worth stopping in!

Blatant racism and overpriced items made by POC and yet y’all feel the need to be racist. The letters you all use are telling as well “Papyrus” (look it up if you’re unclear but y’all know). Do better. I would say apologize but the apologies are never sincere and y’all never stop so have the day y’all deserve and I hope your business goes the way it should God willing….

Based on a racist experience someone had there, no. I would Not recommend supporting this place.

This my go to place for the unusual, but relevant gift for me or a friend. Love sitting outside over a cafe latte. Cool on these hot days. Anne Tonks

This shop supports racism and racist people. Gross. Making money off cultural appropriation. Buy from the source and support indigenous and poc creators

I love this neighborhood treasure! I come by often just for the lavender lemonade. And I love all the unique gifts. The food is always great too!
