Best Chinese food Ive ever had in the US. Restaurant was very clean with a nice atmosphere. Walnut shrimps, chicken casserole, double pork and sweet sour pork were all to die for (especially the walnut shrimp). Food was so good I had to come back again the next day :-)
We enjoyed the food here. much better than those in Chinatown. very clean and modern place.Update: my wife and I noticed that they provided us warm drinking water instead of ice water. This shows that they pay attention to small details: many Chinese customers prefer warm water. Nice.
TNR cafe is my favorite take out restaurant in Arlington. They have free delivery over $25 and it is incredibly prompt to arrive. I’ve never had a bad item from TNR. I particularly like the sesame chicken, veggie soup, and gyoza spring rolls. My vegetarian friends love how many tofu options they have.
Ate dinner here on a Friday night. The place was pretty busy but we got a table right away (not sure if they do reservations). I found the Staff to be courteous and accommodating, though not very engaging in conversation. Personally, I found my sweet and sour pork to be rather average and served with way too much sauce, so much sauce that it overpowered everything else in the dish and made the pork kind of mushy. My partner thought her meal was excellent (an eggplant dish), hence I gave a four star rating for an experience I would have instead rated three stars. Clean restaurant, sleek décor, average maybe slightly above average prices. Recommended to try at least once.
The came here for Sunday lunch without a reservation, but we got seated immediately without any waiting. Both the fried rice and fried rice noodle were good although the fried rice noodle was not exactly the Taiwanese style I was hoping for. The 1/2 roasted duck was crispy. Basil eggplant was standard. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch here and will come back whenever coming to this area. Street parking in nearby areas was not bad around noon on Sunday.
I have typically really enjoyed ordering from TNR cafe, as the food is quite good and the delivery pretty timely. However, I just had a horrible experience with them. I ordered dinner and received a delivery time of 45 minutes. After an hour and a half, I called the restaurant and they said there were delays in delivery that evening. After another half hour, I called back. The person who answered the phone insisted that the food was delivered by the driver and left outside the door of my apartment. The food was not there, nor was it in the lobby. I checked with the front desk of the building complex, and he confirmed no food had been delivered; there was no way for the driver to reach my apartment without the front desk giving the driver access. Instead of admitting the driver had made a mistake, the person on the phone argued with me that the food was in fact in front of my door. It was not. Furthermore, it was impossible for it to be so without the front desk providing access. I do not typically leave reviews, but this customer service was abysmal. The experience left me both hungry and angry. I implore TNR Cafe to treat its customers with more respect.
The only criticism I have with some of their food items is that they are very heavy handed when it comes to sauces.I ordered crispy pan fried noodles, walnut shrimp, and crispy beef. All three dishes were very flavorful but overdressed. If I order these items again, I would probably ask for sauces on the side.Ambience, bar, and dining areas are nice.
Overall a good experience. They sat us kinda awkwardly. The food portions were relatively big. The food was pretty good not amazing. They didn't have the steamed dumplings I wanted. The waiters were kinda slow.
DO NOT GO HERE. I CALLED AND ASKED SPECIFICALLY IF THE CRAB MEAT WAS REAL IN THE CRAB RANGOON AND THEY SAID YES!!! THEY LIED AND I BOUGHT THE PRODUCT, GOT HOME AND REALIZED I HAD BEEN LIED TO. THE CRAB MEAT WAS IMITATION MEAT AND IM SO UPSET.
They serve it family style but it was missing the intense flavor that I've had before
