Great price, service, and sushi. Highly recommend!
Miso, salmon here is a must try. Can't go wrong with any of the nigiri sushi
I’ve been a long time return customer of Takohachi, throughout the pandemic, but they’ve lost my service. The new location’s customer service has gone extremely downhill. It’s a shame, because the old location was 5/5. The food is still good but we’ve waited over an hour for our food in an empty restaurant on multiple occasions.
I had a great lunch there last week. The sushi tastes great and is so fresh. A great price too! I’m going back for lunch today!!
Absolutely awful, first off, the the service was poor. No one checked on us the whole time after being served. The servers attitude was opposite of what you come to expect from a friendly atmosphere at a restaurant. It’s one of those places where it feels like they are inconvenienced by you being there. We tried to be positive about it but, it completely ruined our night out. Not to mention the sushi was below average. It’s fitting that the restaurant is located below giant because that where the sushi tastes like it came from, genuinely. You couldn’t pay us to return.
I am going be honest and blunt as possible. The sushi is not as expensive compared to other restaurants in the area that offer sushi. Takohachi recently moved to a new location, which is down the street from their old location. Visited them at their new spot and was really excited to have sushi for dinner. You know how it goes, when you are stoked to go out after a long day and just eat something that hits the spot. Walked in, up to the sushi bar/counter, was greeted by the friendly staff and placed my order. BTW, try to not order through Ubereats, the prices on the menu are more expensive then what the prices are at the restaurant. I noticed the total was a lot more then what I had calculated. After receiving my change, I asked the employee for my receipt and headed outside to wait for my order. I took a look at the receipt and noticed I was almost charged double. Didn't understand why the receipt wasn't itemized or why I was charged 10% percent tax. I went back in and after talking to the same employee, the issue was resolved. I had to wait 25 minutes longer then what I was told for a take out order, I get it, it's a Friday and they were pretty busy. Whatever, I can burn time on my phone like most of us do, it's all good. The employee brought me my sushi, while I was sitting at the bar/counter. Upon leaving the restaurant, I checked my sushi and immediately noticed the sauce on one the rolls was smeared on the inside of lid, whatever it will end up in my stomach anyway. I took the sushi home, ready to pig out with my wife. One of the rolls of sushi, the salmon just had an unpleasant smell. I tried to eat it but couldn't get past the smell, no way. The other rolls were alright, tbh, their quality of food has declined since they have relocated, in my opinion. Would I recommend this spot anymore, not really. I am sure other's enjoy it, as I once did and besides I haven't tried anything else other then their sushi on multiple occasions. It's honestly not the same as their old location. RIP.
The food is fine, but the service is absolutely horrible. We've been here on two occasions and it's the same experience each time. It takes forever for our food to come out and once we're finished eating, it takes forever to bring us our receipt. We finished our food in 15 minutes but left the restaurant 2 hours after we arrived. They're significantly understaffed and the ownership is being cheap.
Was excited they moved into the new location on the pike, but things have unfortunately changed.1.) Some of the sushi rolls are not made fresh anymore, but pre-made like supermarket sushi. True sushi lovers know stiff and ice cold is a no no. I never had this issue at the old location. Looks like the only way to garuntee fresh is if you’re at the bar watching them.2.) They don’t answer the phone. I asked why they don’t answer for take out orders and the cashier just gave me a blank stare. I asked another waitress, blank stare again. Maybe they’re not answering the phone until they are settled.
Took a little bit, but glad they opened up again. Friendly staff and great quality for the price. Can’t beat the $1 nigiri deal they have going as well.
We had dinner here this weekend. The staff was genuinely very sweet and kind, the food was amazing. So glad to have Japanese food nearby. Highly recommended!
