Very fresh and delicious szechuan-style cuisine. We started off with a cold appetizer of beef tendons that were sliced thin and marinated with spicy chili sauce, garlic, ginger, and cilantro. I loved all the entrees we ordered: dry fried eggplant, twice-cooked pork, and the spicy hot pot flounder. The spices and flavors definitely activate different receptors in your taste buds as opposed to "Americanized Chinese food."
The Dan Dan noodles were decent. Wish they were spicier!
The fried eggplant starter is fantastic! Got it at the “Hot” spice level and ti was delightful
Wow! Great food, perfectly delicious. I ordered online and picked it up in less than 20 min!
Best Chinese place in the area that I’ve experienced so far (have only been here about 5 months). Numbing sauces are pretty authentic. Spice levels are good and the restaurant can accommodate families pretty well.
The shine has come off this diamond. What used to be an exciting and delicious night out is now tired, stale and unnecessarily expensive. First off, nothing much has changed in the past few years when it was THE hotspot. An hour wait was normal without reservations. The restaurant looks and feels tired though. Dingy, no new paint or decor. Same old, same old.... except for menus with increased prices. Entrees run 18-22$ now, but the biggest insult is charging $1.50 for a bowl of rice with EACH entree! Almost $25 bucks each for an entree is a bit pricey for Chinese food. They seen to have become more a take out place now, which is disappointing because the servers would remember you and your orders...now, it's just a different energy. As far as the food, it's...good. Not 25 buck good, but good I guess. Not a great value, and not an experience I'd look forward to at those prices. I wish them well, and hope they find themselves again.
My family and I came to this restaurant during our day trip to Washington DC. Since I have to follow a gluten free diet, we decided on this restaurant based on reviews I read and info regarding their ability to offer a good selection of GF items. A great meal! Not only was our food delicious, but the service was fantastic. My entree had a wonderful selection of unique vegetables that I've never knew of prior to our visit to Peter Chang. Looking forward to revisiting during our upcoming DC day trip!
Your food is tasty but why should I keep coming here? It’s honestly not as good as it was a few years ago and you’ve hiked your prices way up. $15 for “mixed vegetables” that is mostly celery (which is cheap) with 3 pieces of asparagus and 5 pieces of bok choy. I also asked for extra sauce but there was none, even after the waitress made a special note, and you were not busy yesterday. Furthermore, we have to pay $1.50 for white rice (I imagine one of the cheapest wholesale items you order), which is completely anti-consumer. I just don’t think you are living up to your reputation anymore.
This is definitely my favorite high end Chinese restaurant. I had the Golden mountain orange chicken which is basically Peter Chang's version of orange chicken takeout. Except he makes it perfectly spiced, not too hot, not too sweet, with crispy crunchy strips of chicken. The steamed vegetable buns are amazing with this incredible sauce. I wish I had 10 people in my party so I could have sampled many more dishes. Amazing food.
We can see why there are four people answering phones taking orders and seating available only if you've made reservations well in advance. The bubble bread is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. It's fun, delicious, and delightful. Even though the place was totally slammed on a Saturday night, our server did a fantastic job guaranteeing that our food was hot off the stove top and coming right up. Impressive. Keep up the great work and Happy New Year!??
