Not the fanciest place around but the food was good and the waiter attentive.
The food and service were average/ mediocre, nothing special, which normally would've been 3 stars. However, I'm removing a star because our party was a party of 3, but when I got the receipt, it showed a 'service charge' for a 20% tip, then another line to add a tip. This was extremely annoying as tip is not added to the bill unless the party is of 6 or more, and tip isn't mandatory, it should be what the person wants to add (most restaurants add at the bottom of the receipt what different percentage amounts would be). Personally, I always add a 20% tip unless the service is abysmal, but I want the choice to add it, not be pressured or forced into it. This was very sketchy and underhanded.
Went to this place Sunday with one co-worker, then went back on Tuesday with 4 co-workers. So 5 day trip ate here twice. The food was outstanding, the service excellent. Said the manager was exceptional. I would eat anytime in the area, and recommend it to anyone. The carrot cake was amazing. The chicken Stephanny is a must.
First and foremost, the food was amazing. I didn’t hear a single complaint about how the food tasted or was cooked. I had the Linguine with Pesto Genovese and Chicken and I was blown away. The flavors were great, the chicken was tender, and the pesto tasted fresh. The service, however, was the only drawback. The waiter was super friendly and helpful (didn’t catch his name). We went on a Thursday evening in a party of 7 and they had plenty of room for us. Overall, besides the fact that our food took longer than expected, I would definitely go again and try something else on the menu because everything on the menu is good and worth a try. Also, the price was very reasonable, maybe $25 a head.
La Bettola Italiano is some of the best Italian I have had to date in the northern Virginia area. I went with my family for my graduation dinner and my expectations were exceeded. The service was wonderful and the environment was pleasant. The food is made entirely in house, from start to finish, and it comes out hot. You can easily taste the difference in quality between this family run restaurant and a larger chain restaurant. For having a party of seven, the wait time was a little longer than anticipated. I noticed that they seemed very understaffed, so the wait time was understandable. All in all, it was a wonderful experience with amazing food. I highly recommend La Bettola Italiano to anyone in the NoVa area.
We had take out. The calamari was disappointing- it tasted more like some Applebee’s appetizer. The pasta was satisfying. Maybe the dine-in experience would be better.
First time , good service. They didn’t have want I wanted on the menu but made it work and i love it. Thank you
It was a memorable experience. My date and I enjoyed the restaurant’s ambiance. The food was great and the wine was plentiful.
Very poor service - it took our waiter exceedingly long to bring us water, drinks, etc.
My husband and I came for a long weekend getaway and La Bettola was right down the road from where we stayed (so close we even walked) and I was beyond impressed! Cutest restaurant and homey atmosphere. All of the food—we both did create your own pasta, meatballs, and the homemade bread—was incredible along with the wine. The staff was so kind and friendly and it was so affordable compared to what we paid for meals in DC and at our hotel. If you are visiting the DC/Crystal City area I highly recommend you stop by and eat! If we come back to the area we will definitely eat here again!
