Kabob Palace was fantastic! You know you’re going to have good food when you go to a small restaurant with a ginormous line and a bunch of people waiting to pick up the food. The lamb kabob that I had was marinated to a point where every bite felt fresh. The sides were also superb. The bread and green sauce were also super delightful. It looked a lot of food but I was surprised to have finished it all in a single sitting. Not sure if it was because I was hungry or the food was great!
The meat was delicious. Sides were ok. Smelled soooo good because of meat grilling and incense. Service was a bit to be desired, but they were busy so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Will definitely try again. Love.
First time here. Very busy. I wouldn’t recommend order from DoorDash at all long time wait, but very good dishes. By far the best afghan food I ever taste ??. A little spicy if you ask me. I love it though. And the best part they are open 24hrs 7 days a week.
My co-workers and I walked down from where we're staying for a conference, got in ahead of the dinner crowd, got served quickly and the food was great! Plus there was some free food by the front door for Ramadan - ? Highly recommended!
Unbelievably fantastic! First off all the amount of food you get is crazy. I’m a big eater and couldn’t finish. The chicken kabob is amazing; the bread is hot and perfect. The rice, the soups fabulous. This is a must visit restaurant.
The kabobs were very juicy and done just right. The bread/naan was perfect. The sides were ok, but no complaints. The place was packed so plan ahead and avoid large parties.
Late arrival at DCA plus the sad, deplorable lack of food at ATL had me queuing up for food here just past midnight on a Friday night. The place was completely jammed packed and the crowd just grew bigger as I waited. When it was finally my turn, I knew I should have just gone for the food in the hot trays, but I also knew my kids would have wanted kebabs. Well, I ordered the boneless chicken and the beef koobideh kebabs as well as the lamb curry. Because of the crowd and the cook on order kebabs, I waited 45 minutes for my food.By the time I got back to the hotel, my kids were asleep and my husband was half asleep. I was the only one who ate the food hot. Everyone else had cold leftovers the next day.The kebabs are the best I've had. The lamb curry was also very good. However, the chickpeas and the spinach I ordered with my meals were lacking. All they needed was some salt, but I couldn't do anything about that because it was 1 in the morning and I was at a hotel.I have been trying to convince my family that we need to eat there for breakfast to avoid the crowds. ?
They have really good meats but the spinach and rice were kind of bland. The last time I went here a few years ago pre-pandemic I remembered the food having more flavor. Maybe they changed the recipes. I used to think this was the best Afghan place in the area but now I think the place in Tyson's Corner is better and less expensive. Now don't get me wrong Kabob Palace is still good and the meats are as I remembered but everything else was a little disappointing this time. Even the Nan didn't seem the same. Another thing the wait was insane it took us 45-50 minutes to get our food in a place that is so small that you can't possibly socially distance yourself from others and with all the people eating, as every table was occupied and the other people that were just not wearing a mask I left my N95 on and now I'm praying I don't have COVID because of that visit. They are open 24 hours so maybe plan to go during an off hour because they cook the kabobs fresh to order which means you are going to wait a considerable amount of time for your food. Also it's not cheap. It's not expensive but it's definitely not fast food. We spent $73 for four people and we didn't even get drinks or dessert. If you are comfortable with crowded tightly packed places were people are not wearing masks then this place is an experience otherwise I would order from Door Dash or Uber Eats and if those aren't and option for you then order and wait in the car because it's going to be a while. One last thing since I mentioned waiting in the car the parking around the restaurant is horrendous so be prepared to find street parking and walk.
Fresh delicious food. First off we are vacationing from Miami, FL and Kabob Palace was one of the only things open late with sit down areas open. It was also family friendly, smelled delicious from outside, and had many people flocking towards it. We gave it a try and were not disappointed . The chicken kabob was delicious, lamb stew, chicken wings, fresh rice.. down to the mango smoothie tasted like it was made with love. We will be back for a late night meal again soon!
This is my must go spot on every Friday!!The best place to eat Pakistani/Afghan food in the entire DMV, most of the kabab made in front of you, you can see how fresh and clean is your food, the place is small, the food is so delicious the staff are friendly and kind.I highly recommend this place.
