This place just ruined my birthday dinner. No kidding. I ordered a birthday dinner meal for myself and the family. Dumplings, soups, sauces, main dishes; you know, the works. Went and picked it up. All seemed right. Once we get home and eat it (5 min away)...oh gawd. What a nightmare! Gloopy tasteless glop. Fungal tasting pork dumplings. Undercooked herb chive dumplings. Just nasty. Thick skins to boot! Chewy resinous sauces, funky sad watery bok choi, no red bean paste in the red bean buns. Just an insipid awful meal. Won't be coming back.Well, it wasn't an entire loss. At least there was a McDonald's nearby. Happy birthday to me!
The food was terrible, , I order Kung Pao shrimp combination they sent me Kung Pao chicken, no sauce, very dry . The egg roll had no flavor and was dry inside. I called to Hunan Gate to let them know they sent me the wrong order and , the lady that answer said sorry my mistake, next time. She didn't try to compensate for her mistake. I will never order from there again. I spent $18 for that I could not eat.
Surprisingly one of the best Chinese restaurants in Arlington. The hot and sour soup is absolutely incredible.
Loved the food. Highly recommend the Manchurian dishes like the spare ribs with flat peas and the stewed pork with vegetables
Not sure why this place has such low reviews. I love eating here! They have wonderful food, both American-Chinese menu and an authentic Chinese menu. Great place for northern style Chinese food, which is hard to find in this area. Big portions. The dumplings are my favorite, you can tell they’re homemade!
The food was over priced. The lady was very abrasive if not rude. She told me it would take thirty minutes to prepare and I got home i ordered general Tso Chicken and it had to be the worse I ever had and I only stopped in because of the four star rating, Huge thumbs down to this establishment !
I don’t understand why there are so many bad reviews, this is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area. The dumplings are definitely hand made and fresh and absolutely the best item on the menu. I’ve had several dishes and they’ve all been good, the pork elbow is a great pick if you’re looking for something a little different.
Dining experience totally exceeded my expectations after seeing all the mixed reviews. Ordered four different dishes to get some variety... flavor was excellent, generous portion sizes, pricing wasn't expensive, and customer service was noticeably great! That being said, my actual reason for taking the time to post a review goes beyond that...There are certain Chinese restaurants out there that have an authentic 'Chinese-style' menu separate from the typical 'American/Westerner' menu. Usually, the 'authentic menu' isn't advertised as most places will assume you came for the General Tso's, Fried Rice, or Lo Mein. I very much appreciate that this restaurant seemingly offers both menus to anyone that walks in. There's so much more variety and flavors available when you open customers up to authentic Chinese cuisine, and this restaurant does it fantastically well!
Terrific Chinese place. The best take out in the area. No idea why there are some bad reviews.
Initially we didn’t expect too much given the mediocre review, but the food was actually not bad at all. The portion was very large, so it’s better to have 3-4 people to come together. Some dishes are more like American Chinese food vs authentic Chinese food. The fried rice and long beans were both nicely done. Overall, it’s a nice place for a casual lunch/dinner with families.
