They are lying about their price. The goat biriyani was written 12$ but they charged us 16$, not to mention the food was abysmal. When we talked with the waiter about why the price was not updated, he started arguing with us. Will never visit again

One of the few Bengali restaurants in America, Gharer Khabar is our go-to for Bengali cuisine. That said, its name ("Home Cooking") is somewhat a misnomer because the types of food they do best are biryanis, roasts, and pulaos--special occasion dishes rather than everyday fare. The restaurant fits the definition of hole-in-the-wall in many regards and I would not particularly recommend dining in, but rather eating out or even getting catering, which forms the bulk of their business.

Saw reviews on Google and came. Now dealing with disappointments. Chicken roast wasn’t fresh and I am sure it’s from yesterday’s menu. The dal was smelly. Only thing could eat that ismash potatoes.

This place is an authentic Bangladeshi restaurant. We come here to enjoy deshi food and we do also cater from them. The owner and the staffs are very kind and helpful. They listen to your needs with attention. We ate their shutki vuna, fish curry, chicken roast, sorisha ilish, chicken fry, samoosa, haleem, tea and what not! All of these foods taste yumm. Their price is also very reasonable. My personal favourite is their chicken samoosa, chicken fries, sutki vuna and milk tea. They do have iftar buffet also! You must visit this place to enjoy some good foods!

If you are looking for Bangladeshi food near Washington DC, I highly recommend you to visit this restaurant. Everyone from our group (6 people) have the same feedback regarding the foods. Specially the Kacchi & Beef Tehari was so much tasty and full-flavored.

Great tasting good. I'm not desi my wife is and she's hard to please.

I live in Michigan and there's more than 50 Bengali restaurant there. Gharer Khabar beats them all. Very good delicious food. Must try

Typical looking Bangladeshi Restaurant, who serve rice. But foods were tasty and prices are reasonable. They did not take huge time for serving the food as most of the foods were already cooked.

We got food poison from this place! Avoid it with all cost. Not only they charge too much($18 for biriyani?) They serve days old food. We tried many things like Fuchka, moglai paratha, morog polao, kachi biriyani, beef curry, plain polao, chicken samosa. All of them were old, not fresh. They just microwave their food and serve. Even borhani tasted very bland. Yuck!! Never again

Amazing food for amazing prices! Food reminded me of did from around home.
