I've eaten at 4 Ethiopian restaurants in different states and this is by far the best I've ever had!! I got the vegetable platter and iced and hot tea. Both teas had the most amazing spices in them. The food arrived with 10 minutes. Every vegetable dish was perfectly seasoned. I loved the salad. It had an amazing vinegar flavor with juicy tomatoes.
I read about this place on Yelp while looking for Ethiopian food. Chose this restaurant above the other options because of their expansive vegan menu. I’ve had a good amount of Ethiopian food, but have only seen this variety of dishes here. We had the Vegan Kitfo, Vegan Tibs, and Vegan Doro Watt. Everything was hot, fragrant and delicious. It was definitely worth the short trip from DC. I highly recommend it.
My first time here and the food was delicious! There was a pool of oil in the bottom of the bowl of collards. The greens were tasty, but the oil made them have a heavy, greasy aftertaste and film on my mouth. Also, it would be nice if they offered more chicken selections. The pepper sauce had just the right amount heat and kick as to not be too overpowering. My group was not fond of the pound cake. It was too dense and very dry. However, the coffee velvet and tiramisu cakes were outstanding! Very moist and flavorful. I definitely will return to try some of the other selections.
Lovely food. Loved the authenticity and the ability to make it vegan and so delicious. Parking can be a bit difficult. If you're looking for fancy decor and stuff this is not the place. But if you're looking for a date evening or lunch, with an authentic experienc and with vegan Ethiopian food which is not super pricey, this is the place to go to.
Nice place with delicious food and friendly staff. It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it definitely did not disappoint! Will be returning soon!
The best place to go to for cakes! Birthday to be more specific. They also have vegan cake for the vegan out there but for a real juicy moist birthday cake this is the place. The people who own and work are Ethiopian and they are very nice and fun! I always tell myself I have to go for coffee that I bet they have great collection. I hothouse recommend this hidden gem ?
Easily one of the top two Ethiopian restaurants I’ve been to in the DC area. Had kitfo and lamb tibs. Both were fantastic- kitfo was amazing for me and lamb for my girlfriend. Has a market and cafe right next door, picked up a six pack of habesha and pastries on the way out!
Dama is my all time favorite. They have the best dessert and foods especially when you have events. I ordered custom cake for my daughter birthday and the cake was supper beautiful and tastes really good. My guest and the whole family enjoyed that cake. Thank you Dama Pastry.
Great coffee and pastries. The host is warm and welcoming. Must visit place! Food and coffee are worth every dime.
Great bakery! The cake is best I have ever had!!!! True Ethiopian cake. There is a store and restaurant attached. The store had this amazing wine!!!! The store staff are sooooo unfriendly, but products made the stop worth dealing with crabby people.
