Great & cozy location. Wish they had more pastry and dessert options.
One of my favorite local coffee shops in DC! The vanilla cream cold brew is one of the best iced coffee drinks I've ever had. Not too sweet - just the perfect balance of coffee, flavor and cream. The espresso is great too - for when a hot drink is in order. I also love the atmosphere of the shops. Always lots of good energy - not too loud - great to work at when I don't have a lot of meetings. Just all-around a great experience!
Conveniently placed and beautifully decorated, this coffee shop used to be a favorite of mine. It's got a fun changing menu. For example they had fun cherry blossom inspired drinks for March, and now for June they have hibiscus teas and minty refreshing mochas. Their baked goods are baked locally but unfortunately they cannot heat them up for you behind the counter if you're someone who needs their croissants and muffins warm. The drinks, atmosphere, food were delightful and welcoming. But by far the best part of compass coffee: The Baristas!Unfortunately recently they haven't been as impressive. Not sure what inspired the change but many beloved baristas no longer operate this location and the newer staff, though qualified, are not as friendly. Additionally, prices have changed. I ordered a small latte and was charged $7 for it compared to my usual $5. It's possible they mischarged me as the staff is newer but when I asked the barista to ring it up again, it was still $7.Overall, I would say their coffee is still good despite the lack of love in it, but not worth the possible increased price. The feeling inside is a bit colder than before the staff change, so maybe a place to work from home, but not to meet up with a friend.I would give it one star now but I'm giving it two for the good times we used to have.
The atmosphere of the coffee shop is very modern, with wooden seating, and product displayed floor to ceiling. The shop offers seasonal flavors lavender honey, vanilla cream cold brew, mint cold brew, and cherry blossom cream. They also offer unique flavors like Nutella mocha and almond butter. Additionally they have take home containers, if you want to get your compass coffee nitro cold brew kick from home. Their pastries look delicious, the large croissants caught my eye. I ordered the medium iced mocha which was delicious and not too sweet. My only complaint was the price of $6.50 for a medium coffee is a little high in my opinion, especially considering Starbucks is cheaper. But, you're paying for location and atmosphere so I can see this being an every once and a while coffee shop but wouldn't come here for my daily fix. Overall would recommend. Just be aware it is a little busy on weekend mornings but the line moves quickly and staff are personable!
I stop in occasionally when I drop my daughter at Cookology. Their attention to your coffee details is impeccable.
Super cute little cafe! The menu is simple, yet definitely delicious. I had a lavender latte. There are bag hangers under the table, as well as places to charge your phone.Bright interior, quick staff, with an easygoing and modern vibe.Lots of seating variety here, feel free to come alone or with a party! You can buy coffee to take home, and merchandise as well.
Almond milk didn't taste right... Other than that, the store and location is excellent and the cashier was very friendly.
My daughter says this place is too cool for us. I really liked the almond butter latte.
This growing brand's location is amazing, right off the Ballston Metro! The coffee was wonderful and the staff was so amazing and friendly. The coffee was beautiful and everything I hoped it would be! It's one of those coffee shops that feels like home the moment you walk in!
Peppermint latte very good. Flavors are seasonal. Ambience is good, coffee is diverse and flavorful. Comfortable seating
