Really enjoyed going to Chiko's Shirlington location. I have to be careful with spicy food but the orange chicken was really good here! It comes with a side of rice. I'd like to try something else here when I come back with friends.
Very nice and freaking take on Asian cuisine. Scan we code for menu where you open a tab, very little server interaction and the food is brought to you in plastic metal appearing bowls. The potstickers were very good. The smashed salmon bowl was good but nothing ground breaking. All good tasted fresh.
I'm just some white lady who loves Korean food, but the Market Fresh Vegetable Fried Rice was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. Just absolutely transcendent. Crispy fried mushrooms, perfect spice, and a breath-of-the-wok flavor ?? The staff was also so kind about us having a toddler and dog with us. Just a great, friendly dining experience.
Seriously? $20 each for that? Got the rice cake / bulgogi and salmon. 1. Not enough food, 2. Not much flavor, 3. Overall not worth it. There was enough Salmon in that dish for an ant. 90% veggies 10% salmon + no flavor. The rice cakes were good but this dish also lacked meat - barely any bulgogi. Would not go here again and would not recommend.
Tried for the first time yesterday and I will be back. The girls working were very nice. We were the only ones there during lunch. We got the brisket which was really good, but I thought a little pricey for the portion. The chicken wings were delish and so were the wok fried green beans.
The food is good but the customer service is terrible! I called to order Bulgogi with rice cakes and specified my order over the phone. Made 100% that there will be not mistakes but the girl on the phone didn’t even know the menu. That’s very strange for restaurant that people working there don’t know their own menu. By pick up I got attitude from the guy working there (Easter Sunday 12pm) They not only messed up my order but also that unfriendly behavior ! I wanted to order my dish (correct one) and first I was told that the price is $24 instead of $19 (menu price) then I was told that he will not make it. I feel bad and very discriminated! With that bad attitude that restaurant will not survive in that area for long and it’s such a shame because the food is really delicious!
This is what I get for $36 !?! Maybe it's better in the restaurant but delivery is not ideal.
This new outpost of Chiko really ups the game for Asian food in Shirlington. Casual and truly original Chinese-Korean fusion that manages to be packed with inspired, umami-rich flavors without relying too heavily on peppery fire or fermented funk. I just love this place. Do yourself a favor and look past the deep fried chicken (perfectly good but not necessary) and try the charred veggies, steamed salmon, and other slightly healthier options. They are flavor bombs too!Note: don’t know why but many vegetarian options are on a separate vegetarian menu. Ask for it!
There was a slight slip-up when it came to our order coming, but they gave us a snack on the house to help hold us over for the slight inconvenience. Absolutely recommend!
Getting close to having tried everything on the menu. This is the one place I would actually use one of those frequent diner punch cards if they had it. Never disappoints.
