This is a good pinball spot but charging $1 per play is rough especially with no multi play deals.
Absolutely rude and disrespectful staff, the atmosphere was good but it was overshadowed by the belligerent management and employees. Would recommend if you’re trying to get berated by close-minded employees on a power trip.
Best Pinball inside the Beltway, by far. Pinball leagues and tournaments, too!Same Great Bar managers from 20 years ago--Mike and Raju; Benny and Jorge (Bossman). They spend a few years in Fairfax and now they are back in ARVA. Too bad they aren't open for lunch.5 Stars all the Way!!
Service is the star here, skip playing darts, the darts and the board are terrible. Pool table is good, big space with lots of options for what to do,, glad to see it back!
Food is main attraction here. They have one of the best wing in the area. Beer collection is decent. Service was really sweet at this place is open till 2am don't expect a crowd at 6pm people seem to start coming a bit later.Must visit in Arlington. What make this place even great are the couple of old bartender behind the bar what seems to us like the owners before they say they don't have staff to work right now.Good Brave jobs old man.Definitely coming back again.
Laid back local favorite returns to Ballston. Come here for beer and appetizer staples like nachos, fried pickles, mozz sticks, etc.
Driving to the Mussel Bar & Grill yesterday evening, Wednesday, April 6, 2022, I passed by a new CarPool location on the way on Glebe Road on the corner of the block before MB&G. Having my cue in the car I dropped by after dinner and played pool to 2:00 AM close. This is not a shooters room but fine for casual recreational players in my opinion and experience. Five pool tables are new 8 footers. There are more than twice that number of pinball machines. The business would be more aptly named CarPinball. No identifying manufacturer name plate on the pool tables but they are much lower quality than Diamond pool tables, that have become ubiquitous in poolrooms in the last 10 to 15 years, nor the quality of the timeless Brunswick Gold Crown model line tables that historically had been the workhorse of poolrooms since the model’s development in 1958. The tables are covered with wool cloth that is more often used on home recreational pool tables. I haven’t seen wool on poolroom tables since the 1970’s when worsted cloth (dominantly Simonis brand) began taking over. Pockets are buckets. But overall, tables appear to be well maintained and in very good condition by virtue of them being new. I don’t think they are durable for long haul commercial use wear and tear. Oh yeah, wool cloth pills and wears out fast. The spot seems to be a neighborhood hangout. Parking is a miserable proposition as it is for all of Arlington. Customer age range is wide, young to old. Clientele and staff are all friendly and easy to talk to. I picked up a game with a couple guys within ten minutes of walking in. The place has wide ranging draft beer selection.I am sure Carpool is 4 to 5 stars for its intended demographic, in my opinion, people more interested in drinking than pool. Three stars for me. I’ll likely drop by occasionally when I go to MB&G to hit a few balls after dinner.
Glad to see it back in Arlington! Reasonable priced drinks and food.
So glad this place is back in Arlington! They have a lot of the original decor and still have pool tables. Substantial beer selection and they had good bar food. We went for happy hour and all orders were through the bar, but it wasn't hard to get to it. Might change as they staff up.
A great classic place returns to Ballston! While it's hard to replace what Carpool used to be, they did a great job with the new location. Great food, drinks, and plenty of good times.
