The buns were pretty doughy. I love buns. And I had this place when it first open and it was good. But even then I’ve had better. All 3 buns were just doughy so I end up only eating the filling so I was still hungry. It’ll be a while if I return. Disappointed. The staff is nice and place has a nice atmosphere.
Has a small menu. I ordered the 3 bao buns for $13. Pork Belly, Shrimp, Bulgogi. Each of them were interesting. Bulgogi was the best. It was slightly spicy. I also ordered the tater tots with Miso Ranch which were outstanding. Service was efficient. I ate at the outside seating. They are closed on Mondays.
Got the three buns and a side of beef. Both chicken buns were amazing. The third bun was beef and wasn’t as flavorful as the chicken but it was still tasty. The buns were nice and hot.Overall great experience and fast service.
If you have trouble making up your mind, you can choose three different buns for $13. My favorite was the Bulgogi, followed by the Fried Shrimp and then the Spicy Fried Chicken. Next time I'll probably try a Bulgogi Bowl. A nice place for a quick meal while shopping.
Delicious Bao Buns with fun plates to share. Big flavor profiles meet quick street food vibes in this little shop on Pentagon Row. Go for the spicy fried chicken bun… stay for the new speakeasy in the back.
I would probably say 4.5 stars overall. I would recommend the place.2 of us had the loaded tater tots which ended up filling us up.We barely managed to eat a bun each because the tots were so filling.Slight deduction because I think 1 of the 6 buns we ordered was wrong, but I really am not sure because I couldn't tell what was what. Would have helped to have some sort of labelling on each 3-pack.We will definitely go back at some point, but probably wouldn't go out of our way. Solid place overall.
Dine-in isn't available at the moment. We ordered at the door and didn't wait long to get them. They have a couple of picnic tables in front available to diners, so we ate our buns there. We wanted to try all of the buns, the tofu was our least favorite, no flavor was added to it. The spicy chicken and the bulgogi were my tops.
I ordered the 3 for $13 - fried chicken, fried shrimp and pork belly. The fried shrimp was my favorite, it had a nice crunch on the breading and good balance of sauce. The fried chicken, I was looking for my sauce. The bun had some brown sauce soaked on it so maybe that was the sauce? But it wasn’t enough of it, just tasted like fried chicken. The bun itself was fluffy and delicious.
I had the chance to go to Bun’d up with my Project Manager and it was awesome. We got a solid amount for two people. They have indoor seating and tons of seating outside as well. The whole vibe is awesome and the wait for food was not that long. Highly recommend.
Had them at Oktoberfest and all I can say is…AMAZING!!! Their food was ridiculously good and the customer service is on point. Can’t wait to get their food again and bring all my friends!
