Bread. Water. Coffee. Pastries. The most interesting thing about this place is the location. We got two coffees, a bacon and cheddar sandwich, and a banana muffin. I honestly don't think I'll be back :(
Bread and Water Company is a cafe inside a glass space in Pentagon Row. With seating outside, they do takeout only. They have a full coffee menu, breads and many pastries. I stopped in for a chocolate croissant. It was big and got the job done. Was it the best I've had? No, but it was a decent breakfast for a few dollars.
I don’t know how it has this many stars. I’m very unimpressed with this coffee joint. We came here last Sunday and stood inside for 5 minutes before we left because we weren’t even acknowledged by the staff. There was only one person ahead of us waiting on something. Then we went back today and there were more people working so we checked out faster, but it took them 12 minutes to make an iced latte and cold brew. The guy on the coffee was so slow. Also, the coffee was so bad I couldn’t even finish it. I threw it away after 2 sips. So disappointed!
Coffee (latte) tasted watered down and off, and the baguette was stale (and tasted burnt) when we got it home two hours later.Biscuits were ok though.
as a coffee/snack shop their speed of production is concerning. And the lack of a ordering window, coupled with them limiting 5 person inside is making the wait time worse.
Delicious nom noms in the morning.
Stay away from this store people it is a scam!! Ordered a ham and Gouda Croatians sandwich today and tell me why it looked nothing like the picture shown? This thing has no tomato nor greens and it is 10$? I just got rubbed. Will not be going back to this store ever again.
Had a ham and Gouda croissant sandwich today. It was definitely good, but nothing different. They do require masks and limit customers in the store. There is a limited amount of outdoor seating. The woman taking orders kept touching her mask with her food preparation gloves on. Her 10 year old daughter was taking orders. They were both very friendly and pleasant, but service was a little slow. I am from out of town so prices were high but appropriate for the area.
My wife had the best experience with the owner like employee who helped my baby girl who fell down. Then she came out with first-aid to take care of her with concerns and heartwarming gesture. We will visit here and try some breads and more. Thank you. God bless!
Great quality, lovely outdoor sitting, super nice staff
